Kerala State Eligibility Test or Kerala SET is a mandatory requirement for appointment as higher secondary school teachers in the state. The LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, conducts the SET on the basis of the syllabus approved by the Board of Examinations.
The exam is held for 31 subjects. There will be two papers in KSET. Paper 1 will be common to all and paper 2 will be based on subject of specialisation of the candidate at the postgraduate level.
The pass mark in the exam is 48 marks. Candidates belonging to OBC (non creamy layer) have to secure minimum of 45 marks to pass and candidates belonging to differently abled, SC, ST categories have to secure 40 marks to pass.

The answer keys of all subjects will be published in the official websites of the LBS Centre immediately after the examination. Important Guidelines
Now, with the Kerala SET exam date 2023 in hand, it is time to look at the exam day guidelines that must be followed for the smooth conduct of the examination. In addition to that, there are some preparation tips that can also be helpful at present. Before that, let’s take a look at the important guidelines.
- Every candidate must be present at the examination hall at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the commencement of the exam. The prescribed time can also be checked from the admit cards.
- Candidates will be given question booklets that will basically be the question paper. They will contain the booklet numbers along with the versions (A or B) on the front page. Hence, candidates must mark the booklet number and version on the OMR sheet carefully.
- No one will be permitted to use calculators, mobile phones or any other electrical equipment inside the Kerala SET 2023 examination hall.
