The online registration process would commence from 20/07/2020. Interested candidates and their parents can register themselves for the admission process through the official site of KVS at kvsangathan.nic.in.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Admissions 2020-2021: Online Registration for Admission to Class I in Kendriya Vidyalaya for the Academic Year 2020-2021 will commence from 20/07/2020 to 07/08/2020 and for Class II and above from 20/07/2020 to 25/07/2020. KVS Admissions – Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) admission for the session 2020-21 is going to start from the 20/07/2020. The official announcement has been made in this regard. Last year the online registration for admission to Class I in Kendriya Vidyalayas for the academic year 2019-20 was started from March 1, 2019, and the last date to submit an online application was March 19, 2019.
Once the process for registration begins online, prospective candidates can apply online through the designated admission portal – https://kvsangathan.nic.in/ and also through the mobile app.
The official application for the admission for the academic year 2020-21 can be downloaded from – https://kvs.gov.in/. Parents can download the app for iOS and Play Store and should read the instructions before apply online.
Salient Features in KVS admission 2020
Children of transferable and non-transferable Central government employees and children of ex-servicemen. This will also include children of Foreign National officials, who come on deputation or transfer to India on invitation by Govt. of India.
Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies / Public Sector Undertaking/Institute of Higher Learning of the Government of India. Children of transferable and non-transferable State Government employees.
Children of transferable and non-transferable employees of Autonomous Bodies/ Public Sector Undertakings/Institute of Higher Learning of the State Governments.
Children from any other category including the children of Foreign Nationals who are located in India due to their work or for any personal reasons. The children of Foreign Nationals would be considered only in case there are no Children of Indian Nationals wait-listed for admission.
Eligible Age for KVS admissions
A Child must be 5 years old as on 31st March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. (Child born on 1st April should also be considered.)

Reservations in KVS admission 2020:
SC & ST Category: 15% seats for Scheduled Caste and 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribes shall be reserved in all fresh admissions in all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Differently-abled category: 3% seats of total available seats for fresh admission will be horizontally reserved for Differently Abled-children as per the provisions of RTE Act, 2009 read in conjunction with Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.
Admission for vacant seats in KVS:
In case seats remain vacant after 30th June as the case may be, in the year of admission, Deputy Commissioner of the Region is empowered to allow admissions up to the prescribed strength as per priorities in admission up to 31st July. Once the KVS releases the official notification for KVS admissions 2020, same will be updated here as well as.
Registration for Class II and above except Class XI will be done only if Vacancies exist. For Class XI, application forms will be issued immediately after the declaration of Class X results, subject to availability of Vacancies in the Vidyalayas Reckoning of age for all Classes shall be as on 31.03.2020. KVS admission 2020-21: The online registration process for the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS Class 1 admission) will commence soon. As per the official, the application process is likely to begin from 20/07/2020. Meanwhile, the admission process from class 2 to 11 will be online.

KVS admissions 2020: Documents required
Valid mobile number and email address, digital photograph or scanned photograph of the child seeking admission (JPEG file of size at most 256KB), a scan of the child’s birth certificate (JPEG or PDF file of size at most 256KB), details of government certificate in case you are applying under the economically weak section, transfer details of parent/grandparent whose service credentials will be used in the application.
The registration of class 2 onwards (except class 11) is subject to availability of vacancies in a particular class. It is likely to start in April. The admission will start within 10 days after the result declaration.
There is a total of 1,137 Kendriya Vidalayas across the country. The students will be shortlisted as per the priority category. Last year, a total of 6,48,941 aspirants applied for around 1 lakh seats. Since the admission process is online, KVS had released the list on time. The list can be seen on the official website of the individual schools.

The official notice states, “The list of children registered, list of eligible children, category-wise list of provisionally selected children, waiting list and subsequent lists to be compulsorily displayed on the website of the Kendriya Vidyalayas concerned, in addition, to display on School’s Notice Board.” Further, if any of the days is a public holiday, then the next working day will be treated as an opening/closing day.
KVS admission 2020: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will release the admission form in the last week of February. Students can download the notification from the official website www.kvsangathan.nic.in. In case sufficient applications are not received under the RTE provisions, that is 25 per cent seats for candidates from weaker sections and disadvantaged groups from the neighbourhoods, there could also be the extended date for second notification.
KVS registration for Class 2: The registration of class 2 onwards (except class 11) is subject to availability of vacancies in a particular class. It will start from 20/07/2020 to 25/07/2020. The list will release on 29/07/2020. The admission will begin from 30/07/2020 to 07/08/2020. The admission will start within 10 days after the result declaration.
KVS Admissions 2020 Guidelines for admission for Class 1 in KVs across India
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, KVS has recently released revised guidelines for KV admissions 2020 on the official website, kvsangathan.nic.in. The guidelines are released for new and existing candidates. The school’s administration has reserved 27 per cent seats for Other Backward Classes, OBC candidates which are mentioned in the guidelines.
This had already been decided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in December 2019. As per the official information, admission for Class 1 would be conducted through an online draw of lots. The admissions to Class 2 to class 8 would be done on a priority basis. This means in case the applications exceed the number of seats, the lottery system would be followed.
Admissions to Class 9 will be given on the basis of an entrance exam and admission to Class 11 would be done on the basis of Class 10 marks of any candidate. Admission of fresh students to Class 10 and Class 12 are subject to availability, as per the information brochure of KVS.
KVS would preference to the following –

Age limit: Students ought to be 5 years of age as on March 31, 2020, for admission to Class 1. Students born on April 1 would also be considered for admission. As for the priority, please note that different category children get different priority based on the fact if the KV you are applying to falls under Civil or Defence sector or PSU’s/ Institute of Higher Learning. - Will there be any exam before admission?
There is no exam for Std 1 admission.
- What is the age cutoff for a child applying to grade-1?
The minimum age for admission to Std 1 is 5 years and the maximum admissible age is 7 years as on 01/04/2020, with a 2 year relaxation in upper age limit for “Differently-Abled” candidates. Thus, the allowed range of date of birth of a child seeking admission is: 1.04.2013 to 1.04.2015 for applications not in the “Differently Abled” category. The allowed range of date of birth of a child seeking admission in the “Differently Abled” category is 1.04.2011 to 1.04.2015. If the entered date of birth does not live in above mentioned range, sign up/registration will not be allowed.”
- How many Kendriya Vidyalayas can I apply to using one application?
You can apply for at most 3 KVs in an application.
KVS admission 2020 Important dates:
- The registration will begin from 20/07/2020 and will close on 07/08/2020.
- The list of provisionally selected candidates for Class I will be released on 11/08/2020
- The second and third list will release on 24/08/2020 and 28/08/2020, respectively
- The merit list will be published only if seats remain vacant after the release of the first merit list
