National Anveshika Experimental Skills Test Registration 2023 or NAEST Registration 2023 link has been activated by the National Anveshika Network of India (NANI). Vigyana Bharathi is a registered NGO working to promote scientific temper in society and enabling people to feel round of Indian connections with science.
In its continued effort to promote science Vigyana Bharati, the Telangana unit has been conducting experimental skill tests (Quiz centered around doing experiments than the memory of facts). In view of encouraging students to learn through experiments, we have taken up the quiz activity in Telangana region in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers(IAPT) guided by Prof HC Verma from IIT, Kanpur.

National Anveshika Experimental Skill Test 2023 or NAEST 2023 will be conducted on voluntary basis by Vigyana Bharathi. on online mode for students of class 9, 10. In Telangana, Vibha Anveshika and Vigyana Bharathi has taken responsibility to coordinate this programme. All students of class 9 and 10 are eligible for the test. Students can Register NAEST exam before 29th July through online www.skishq_sopan.org or https://naest.shiksha-sopan.org .
NAEST is free of any charges for all the rounds, i.e., there is “No Registration Fee” and “No Examination Fee” collected from the students. The exam will be conducted through online mode in the month of August. Therefore all the DEOs in the State are instructed to communicate all schools irrespective of managements and encourage the students of 9 and 10 class to participate in said programme.
Screening Test: The Screening Test this year going to be at BM Birla Science Center, Hyderabad on 14th August 2019. The screening test will be conducted in multiple cities of Telangana. In Hyderabad, the screening test will be conducted in the Bhaskar Auditorium of B.M. Birla Science Center. The school principal can send (1) Name (2) Class (3) School (4) Mobile and (5) Email, of a maximum of five students via Email/SMS/letter to the local coordinator. The nominations from teachers/parents/students can be considered if there is a vacancy.
Nomination Form for Hyderabad Center: The students in Junior College (Class 11 and 12) and Degree College (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) in Hyderabad can nominate themselves. Their registration will be confirmed if there are vacancies as preference is given to nominations received from schools/colleges. Student needs to bring a pen and writing pad/examination board.
Reach the venue 20 min before the scheduled start.
About the Test and Registration Process: NAEST is a two-level test (1) School Level, Class 9 to Class 12, and (2) College Level, BSc/MSc. The NAEST involves (1) screening test on 14th Aug, (2) Prelim on Aug 21st (3) Semi-Finals on 17th Sep and (4) Final on 18th Oct. Click NAEST General Information to know more.
Self Registration in Special Cases. In Telengana State, we are planning to establish screening test centres at all district headquarters i.e., (1) Adilabad (2) Hyderabad (3) Karimnagar (4) Khammam (5) Mahboobnagar (6) Medak (7) Nalgonda (8) Nizamabad (9) Rangareddy (10) Warangal. The details will be worked out as time progresses.
Enable schools of Telangana region to come up in large numbers to register in this quiz competition. This year the prelims are scheduled on 8th August, planning to be conducted in each district headquarters(place will be intimated to registered participants)-after prelims teams are expected to do experiments and final selected students should participate in national level.

About NAEST: National Anveshika Experimental Skills Test is an IAPT initiative to encourage the culture of doing experiments. NAEST is being organized at two levels, (A) School Level, Class 9 to Class 12 and (B) College Level, BSc/MSc. The test format consists of (1) Screening is based on video quiz. In the screening test, a short experiment is shown in each video and questions will be asked based on the experiments shown. (2) Prelims are based on real experiments. Each student will be required to perform a set of experiments. (3) Semifinal and Final are similar to prelims.
Registration Free: There is no registration fee for the test. Nomination by the school. The school principal or head of an institution can nominate a maximum of v students. Individual nomination by the student is also considered if there is a vacancy.
Nomination details. It should have student’s (1) Name (2) Class (3) School (4) Mobile (5) Email. If a student does not have mobile/email then those of parents/teachers can be given. These details can be sent through (a) Email/SMS or (b) letter to the local coordinator.
Features of NAEST: NAEST experiments are not tied to the syllabus and textbooks. Students don’t have to prepare for this test. The test ambience encourages students to deliver their best. The primary objective of NAEST is to encourage the culture of doing experiments.
Prizes: Apart from the joy of doing experiments, the students will get prizes according to their performance in prelims and final. The 1st, second and third prize winner at the national level will get a prize of Rs 5000/-, Rs 3000/-, and Rs 2000/respectively. The corresponding prize for state-level winners is Rs 1000/-, Rs 750/-, and Rs 500/.
NAEST is an annual competition which assesses and nurtures keen observational skills, analytical skills, and experimental skills of an Indian student in physics. It embodies the principles of NEP 2023 – joyful learning, learning to learn, experiential learning and competency-based assessment.
What is NAEST?

It is an annual competition open to students studying in Indian schools, colleges and universities. It is organized for two groups – Junior category for school students from 9th grade to 12th grade and Senior category for college students pursuing pure sciences at the graduation and post-graduation level.
What is NANI?
NANI stands for National Anveshika Network of India, an organization consisting of ~27 Anveshikas in different states of India. Head Office is in Kanpur and Padma Shree Prof. H. C. Verma is the National Coordinator.
What is the eligibility criteria?
For NAEST 2022, a student currently in any standard from IX to XII is eligible in junior category. A student studying in B.Sc. or Msc. in any Indian institution is eligible for senior category. Any student who has passed standard XII in 2021 or 2022 but not enrolled any colleges/university is also eligible in junior category.
