Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University has given PJTSAU Agriculture PhD admission 2023 or TS Agriculture PhD admission 2023 notification on its official website. Candidates who are eligible can check details and submit the online application PhD admission web portal as per the schedule.
PJTSAU Agricultural University invites applications from the eligible candidates for admission to the following PhD Courses (Agriculture Doctoral Degree Programmes). Courses Offered: Ph.D. (Ag.) / Ph.D. (H.Sc.) / Ph.D.(Ag. Engg. & Tech.) / M.Sc.(Ag.) / M.Tech (Agri. Engg.) / MBA (Agribusiness Management) / M.Sc. (H.Sc.) and M.Sc.Food Technology
1. Ph. D. in Agriculture
2. Ph. D. in Agricultural Engineering
3. Ph. D. in Community Science (Formerly Home Science)
Qualification: Candidates seeking admission into any of the Doctoral Degree Courses offered must have passed Master of Science or an equivalent degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Community Science as the case may be, in the concerned field of specialization with at least 50% marks in the aggregate under traditional system of examination or an OGPA of 3.25 out of 4.00 point scale or OGPA of 7.50 or above in 10.00 point scale in Grade Point system.
It is mandatory for the candidates to have passed out from ICAR-accredited constituent colleges and ICAR-accredited courses/programmes of public funded/Govt. institutions (GoI/State Govt. funded) within or outside ICAR-AU system OR ICAR-accredited Private Agriculture and Allied Science colleges and ICARaccredited courses/programmes.
It would be mandatory for the Private Agriculture and Allied Science colleges to have accreditation from ICAR even if they are affiliated to an ICAR accredited public funded/Govt. institution (GoI/State Govt. funded) outside ICAR-AU system or AUs (GoI/State Govt. funded) within the ICAR-AU system.
b. In the case of SC and ST candidates, a pass in the Degree of Master of Science in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Community Science as the case may be under traditional system or OGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 7.00 out of 10.00 under Grade Point system is sufficient.
c. The basic degree of four (4) years duration from PJTSAU/or an institution accredited by ICAR is essential. d. The applicants who appeared for ICAR AICE – JRF/SRF (Ph. D) 2022 are only eligible for admission into the Doctoral Degree Courses of PJTSAU. Age limit: The upper age limit for admission into Ph.D. courses shall be 40 years as on 31st December 2022.
Selection Process: a) The selection shall be based on the previous academic record at undergraduate/postgraduate level and entrance test conducted by ICAR through ICAR AICE – JRF/SRF (Ph.D) 2022 and the weightage would be in the ratio of 10:30:60 (10% B.Sc. Marks, 30% M. Sc Marks and 60% Entrance Marks).
The candidates who appeared for ICAR entrance test in a major subject group shall not be permitted to interchange to any other major subject group. These identified subject groups may be considered for admissions only. Based on the merit rank (arrived at through the stipulated formula) the candidate is allowed to take admission in a specific degree/discipline at PJTSAU as per the choice of the candidate and availability of seat at that merit rank through a process of offline counselling.
b) In case of SC/ST candidates, there shall be no minimum qualifying marks to the extent of seats reserved for them. c) In case of a tie, candidate who secures more marks at M.Sc. level shall be preferred. In case of a further tie, marks obtained at B.Sc. level shall be considered. For further tie breaking, date of birth shall be considered and older candidate shall be preferred.
d) The admission shall be through offline counselling. The merit list of eligible candidates shall be displayed on the University Notice Board and also be placed on University Website. The selected candidates shall submit required original certificates, pay the prescribed fee in full and secure the admission.
Required Certificates at the time of application: Only copies of the following documents shall be enclosed to the application. (Documents enclosed to the application will not be returned): a. e-Admit Card of ICAR AICE – JRF/SRF (Ph.D) 2022 and ICAR-Entrance Score card issued to qualified candidates.
b. 10th class or SSC marks memo c. Intermediate marks memo (10+2 or its equivalent) d. Memoranda of marks (all years) obtained at the qualifying Undergraduate and Master’s level examination or transcript. e. Provisional / Degree certificate of the qualifying examination. f. Study certificates from Heads of recognized educational institutions from VI class onwards (Those who appeared for any examination by private study should enclose residence certificate).
g. Social Status Certificates issued by the competent authority in case of candidates belonging to BC/SC/ST. The admission given under this quota shall be provisional till the genuineness of the social status claim of the candidate is certified by the respective Directorate of the Government.
h. The latest certified copy of the EWS Certificate valid for the year 2022-23 issued by the competent authority in case of applicants belonging to EWS category. i. Date of birth certificate. j. Certificate of disability for PwD. k. Residence Certificate. l. Conduct/Bonafide certificate from the Head of the Institute last attended.
Required certificates at the time of admission: Candidates who are selected for admission should submit the following certificates/ documents in original at the time of admission in addition to the originals of the certificates listed above. a. Migration certificate if the candidate has passed from a University other than PJTSAU. b. Transfer Certificate from the College/Institution where the candidate last attended.
General Information: The University does not offer any financial assistance to the Ph.D. students. However, the Ph.D. students may avail the financial assistance either in the shape of stipends or long- term loans, if offered by government or any other agencies on such terms and conditions as prescribed by the respective agencies.
The student should not register for any other degree/diploma programme concurrently on regular or part-time basis either in this University or in any other University/Educational Institution. The candidate who has been admitted in the Doctoral programme at PJTSAU but does not complete the requirements or withdraws from the course for not maintaining minimum OGPA will have to apply again by re-appearing for Entrance exam conducted by ICAR in the subsequent year and seek admission afresh.
The stipend if any paid earlier shall be recovered in full from the candidate. d. The candidature of applicants who have obtained their Master’s degree in one discipline and apply for admission in a different discipline will not be considered. All admissions shall be deemed as provisional and subject to further scrutiny.
The admission shall be liable for cancellation without notice at any stage during the study period of the students, if it is found that the admission was in any way repugnant to the rules/regulations or invalid by reason of incorrect or false information furnished by the applicants or their parents/guardians at the time of admission.
Any cancellation of admission shall not exclude penal action under the relevant criminal law. The University reserves to itself the right to vary or cancel any of the rules without notice. h. Hostel accommodation shall be provided subject to availability. FEES: a) Details of the amount of fees payable at the time of admission are furnished at Annexure II. b) Students selected for admission shall pay the entire fees at the time of counselling itself.
