MHRD, Department of School Education and Literacy is organizing Inter-School Band Competitions At State, Zonal and National Level  

Guidelines for Inter School Band Competition:

1. Separate competition for Boys and Girls.
2. Number of participants shall be 20 to 30.
3. The maximum time limit is 5 to 7 Minutes.
4. No Film based tune or National Anthem tune is allowed.
5. Group should consist of Pipe and Drum Band.
6. Preference will be given to those wearing band costume.
7. Theme of the band is Patriotic.
8. List of participants and Escort should be forwarded to the respective state for state-level competition and for zonal level competition at respective zones.
9. Name of participants be written in capital letter, abbreviations will not be accepted.

While enclosing herewith a copy of the Government Memo 3rd read above all the District Educational Officers in the state are instructed to take necessary action in the matter accordingly.

They are informed that the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India is organizing an Inter-School Band Competition to be held at 6 (Six) Zones in the country followed by a national level Competition at New Delhi, scheduled prior to the Republic day 2018 celebrations

The competition is proposed to be organized at three levels viz., State, Zonal and national level. The competition is open to all categories of schools. Education Department of the States and Union Territories will conduct inter-school band competitions within their respective states and union territories.

At the Zonal level, the winner teams, one each from boys and girls categories, will be given cash prizes of
• 1st Prize 10,000/-
• 2nd Prize 7,000/-
• 3rd Prize 5,000/-

Best selected 02 Teams at State level competitions viz., one each of boys and girls shall participate in the Zonal level competition.

The distribution of states into six zones across the country and the coordinating state proposed for each zone is as under :
Selected teams one each of Boys and Girls from each Zone will compete at the National Level competition which will be held at New Delhi. Thus, a total of 12 teams will compete at the National level.

At the national level, the winner teams in the boys and girls categories will be given the following cash prizes :
• 1st Prize: 20,000/-
• 2nd Prize: 15,000/-
• 3rd Prize: 10,000/-

Guidelines for the Inter-School Band Competition:

4. No film based tune or National Anthem tune is allowed.
5. Competition is open to all categories of schools.

8. The theme of the band must be patriotic
9. Registration form attached below should be filled properly and be submitted on e-mail ID gpehyd@gmail.com

10. A list of participants and Escort should be forwarded along with the registration form.
11. The name of participants and escorts should be forwarded along with the registration form.

12. Cost of travel will be borne by the concerned schools states out of their own funds? MMER funds under SSA & RMSA Entries must submit in Annexure-11 and Annexure-111 (Copies Enclosed)

They are therefore requested to give wide publicity and inform the schools under all managements to participate in the above-said competition.

Note:
a) State/UT level competition to be managed by the concerned State/UT.
b) The zonal level competition will be funded by MHRD. (expenditure limit Rs.3,00,000/zone)

You would appreciate that a school band uniquely encourages a feeling of oneness, belonging and a deep sense of pride in school children. The rhythm of a band instills a feeling of action, courage, and patriotism in children and adults alike. A competition of this kind will rejuvenate and rekindle the spirit of various school bands in the schools throughout the country.

The competition is proposed to be organized at three levels viz. State, Zonal and National level. The competition is open to all categories of schools. Education Departments of the States and Union Territories will conduct inter-school band competitions within their respective States and UTs.

3. The expenditure up to State level will be borne by the respective State/UT. Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India will bear the expenditure relating to the organizing of the Zonal and National level Inter School Band competition.

The Jury of the Inter-School Band Competition at Zonal and National level will be decided by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Govt. of India. At the Zonal level, the winner teams, one each from boys and girls categories, will be given cash prizes of Best selected 02 Teams at State level competitions viz. one each of boys and girls, shall participate in the Zonal level.
