Clean city program to be taken up with help from local communities. Govt and private employees, police dept, PSU employees, Ex-servicemen to be involved in clean city program. IT Companies, Hospitals, Multiplexes, other corporate houses to be involved in clean city program.
The program would be launched on 16th May by hon’ble Governor Sri ESL Narasimhan: The Telangana Government is going to launch a five-day ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ campaign on May 16 at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
The drive, named as “Swachh Telangana – Swachh Hyderabad”, will be held from May 16 to 20 and would be launched by Governor ESL Narasimhan. All ministers, elected representatives, officials, businessmen, industrialists, institutions and common people will participate in the campaign, according to the Telangana CMO.
Rs 1000 Crores earmarked for the clean city program. Hyderabad city to be divided into 400 divisions for this program: In this ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ drive, the total city will be divided into 400 areas. While a 15 member committee will supervise the works, about 6,000 people would be made in-charge for the programme and they will be responsible for cleaning a stretch of one-and-a-half kilometre.
An awareness camp will be launched for the programme on May 6. While stating that he himself will participate in the programme, the Chief Minister called upon different sections of the society, especially the corporates to participate in the program.
Hyderabad will be divided into 400 segments of 1.5 kilometre each with every segment getting an in charge for the compaign. They would form committees with 15 locals to conduct the cleaning drive.
Not only government staff and police personnel, even private employees working in software companies and other sectors should be made part of Swacch Hyderabad. He directed district administration to undertake massive publicity campaign for the programme’s success.
Telangana CM gave green signal for the construction of 150 markets in addition to 80 multi-level parking and 136 bus bays in twin cities. Further, he decided to spend Rs 1,000 crore for making Hyderabad a clean city. The government would now be giving high priority to development and welfare activities in the state capital.
The government is also keen on the construction of 250 public toilets and modernise 36 graveyards. Meanwhile, KCR would be holding meetings from May 6 with representative of print and electronic media and take suggestions on development of Hyderabad.
