TS Inter Exams held from May 1st to 20, 2021
Intermediate Classes start from February 1st, 2021: However, the third phase of JEE Main exams will be held from April 27 to 30. As the final phase is from May 24, the JEE Main exams are expected to start on May 3 and be completed by May 24. It is learned that the examinations of the main subjects will be completed by the 19th.
Classes for Inter students will be held from February 1 to April. Classes run for a total of 68 days, including 24 days in February and March, and 20 days in April. However, the government has recently suggested that instead of the shift policy, classes should be held one day for first year students and the next day for second year students. If implemented, students will receive only 34 days of classroom teaching each year.
According to recent guidelines issued by the government, colleges should be run on a shift basis if the number of students exceeds 300. Some argue that legal issues are likely to arise if the management of colleges changes after the guidelines are issued.
Assignments from the removed syllabus: 70% of the subjects have annual examinations on the syllabus itself. Assignments are given from the remaining 30 percent. One or two exams will be conducted on that syllabus. Answers should be written and submitted at home. However, the question arises as to how useful this is.
Decision to discuss the EAMCET Syllabus with the Council: It is hoped that EAMCET will have the opportunity to manage the entire syllabus in the same way as JEE Main. The decision will be taken after discussing this with the Telangana State Higher Education Council officials.
It is learned that the board is inclined to conduct environmental education and ethics tests for first year students of Inter. Once they are put aside, officials expect the same demand to come in the future.
Minimum marks for missed students. It is learned that 1.92 lakh students who missed the first year of Inter are not eligible to appear for the supplementary examinations and proposals are being made towards giving minimum marks and making them pass. If they want more marks they are expected to give them a chance to write the May exams again.
The Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2021 are likely to be held from the last week of April till mid-May 2021. Prior to that, students have to take practical examinations which are likely to be conducted in the second week of April 2021.
The schedules for both intermediate theory and practical exams will be announced by the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE) soon.
Junior colleges are reopening from February 1. After two months of classwork, the plan is to hold inter exams from the last week of April till mid-May. Before the theory exams, practical exams will be held. Inter Board will announce the schedules for both theory and practical exams soon,” according to BIE official.
With the State government allowing educational institutions to reopen for Classes IX and above from February 1, the BIE is now gearing up to issue the IPE fee notification.
As per the officials, It is not logical to announce the inter exam fee schedule when colleges are closed. Now that junior colleges have been granted permission to reopen, we will issue the exam fee notification shortly.
There will be no change in the examination pattern. However, the board has decided to give additional choices in relevant sections of the question paper. For instance, students might have to attempt three out of seven questions instead three out of five.
Further, the inter exams will be conducted utilising 70 per cent of the syllabus while the remaining will be imparted through assignment and projects by lecturers. The digital audio-visual lectures for intermediate students through Doordarshan and T-SAT network channels will continue till March 31. In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the board announced the academic calendar from September 1, 2020, and has arranged digital audio-visual classes for students.
In its guidelines for reopening, the Education Department has permitted junior colleges with less than 300 students and having sufficient accommodation to operate in the regular shift i.e., 9.30 am to 4 pm. Those having strength above 300 should operate in two shifts i.e., 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, and 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The colleges have also been asked to ensure one student per bench and not more than 30 students in a class.
