Class 4 Maths Lesson/Topic: Many objects- different shapes
Week 1 Learning Outcomes: Will be able to identify 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional shapes in surroundings.
Day 1 Micro Competencies: Will be able to observe the objects in the surroundings and identify different shapes in them.

Steps in 4th Class Maths Teaching Learning Process : 1) Greeting : Good morning children…!
2) Testing previous knowledge: Examine the extent to which children have the concept prior to understanding the concept of the following context.

  1. What are the objects brought in your bag while coming to school?
  2. What are the similar objects from those in your bag?
  3. What are the objects similar to those are there in your class?
  4. Observe and tell about the shapes of objects in your classroom?

3) Declaration of the topic: Today let us know about the shapes of objects in our surroundings.
Key words : Identify the keywords that come up in the topic and write them on the blackboard to create awareness on the topic.

4) Activities to understand the concepts: (a) Ask the children to collect objects (tangible) in the classroom and make them identify round shaped objects in them.
(b) Ask the children to identify the round objects by showing these pictures.
(c) Identify the object that is different among these.
(d) Match the similar objects: Show the pictures in page no.85 from the textbook and make the children identify the shapes.
(e)Match the following. Make the children understand the concept of shapes through activities given in 1st and 2nd class textbooks.

5) Problem solving: Teacher should make all the children identify shapes given in the pictures of page no.11 in the 1st class textbook. Ask them to identify where they are and also color them.
