GoI SWANATH Scholarship 2021 for College Students who Lost Parents to Covid-19 and apply online at scholarships.gov.in. The All India Council for Technical Education has announced an AICTE SWANATH scholarship 2021 to provide financial assistance to kids who lost their parents due to Covid-19 and the wards of armed forces as well as central paramilitary forces martyred.
The eligible students of degree, diploma courses will be granted Rs 50,000 annually for a maximum of four years to pay their college fee, or purchase course materials such as computers, books, equipment etc. As many as 2000 AICTE scholarships will be offered out of which 1000 Swanath scholarships are available for Technical degree students and 1000 Swanath Scholarships for Technical diploma students.

The SWANATH Scholarship Scheme is being implemented by AICTE to provide encouragement and support to orphans, wards of parents died due to Covid-19, wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action (Shaheed) to pursue education. This is an attempt to give every such child, an opportunity to study further and prepare for a successful future through education in AICTE Approved institutions and courses.
Who All Can Apply for the AICTE SWANATH Scholarship?
- Orphans, students who lost their parents during the Covid-19 pandemic, wards of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces martyred in action can apply.
- The annual family income of the applicants must not exceed Rs 8 lakhs.
- Students must not be receiving financial support through any other means.
- The candidates should be currently studying in the AICTE approved institutions at degree or Diploma level in regular mode.
Procedure to Apply for the AICTE SWANATH Scholarship
The candidate fulfilling the above-mentioned eligibility criteria will have to apply online on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) on or before November 30. The applications will be then verified by the institution where the candidate is studying and the Department of Education (DTE) of the respective State/ UT. The students will be required to submit the needed documents issued by the competent authority during the submission of the application.
How to Apply for SWANATH Scholarship?
Students who are pursuing Degree, Diploma Courses & Technical Education are aware of the scholarships that are available on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP portal) and students fulfil the eligibility conditions specified, students can apply for them online. The given steps to be followed for making a successful application on the portal.
- Visit the scholarships.gov.in Website
Students need to visit the official website of the NSP portal, https://scholarships.gov.in in your device browser.
- Click on New User? Register Link
Once you reach the official website, you click on the New User Registration link on the home page. Students who are pursuing Degree, Diploma Courses & Technical Education should read and understood the guidelines for registration. After tick on the radio buttons, you can click on the Click on the Continue button.
- Fill the Fresh Registration Form
After clicking on that link, a Fresh Registration form would be opened. Now, Select the Post Matric / MC/ Top Class for Class 11, 12, UG, PG etc., from the Scholarship Category and Select Scholarship Scheme if you want to apply for Scholarships OR Select Incentive Scheme if you want to apply for any incentive scheme and fill the form with required information and click on the register button.
- Click on Login to Apply Link
After completion of new registration process, student will get a unique application ID and password through SMS on the provided (registered) mobile number. Now, Students who are pursuing Degree, Diploma Courses & Technical Education can click on the Login to Apply link on the home page. Then, Login for Fresh Application web page will appear in your device.
- Enter Login details
In the login web page, student shall login to NSP using application ID and password which were received at the time of registration process and click on the login button. Here, the student must change the password upon first login. This password has to be kept safely and confidentially. The student can change the mobile number only before the first login, i.e. before changing the received password.
- Click on the Application Form link
After clicking on the login button, an applicant dashboard will open. Now, click on the ‘Application Form’ to proceed with the scholarship application.
- Fill the Application Form
After clicking on the application form link, application form web page will appear. The Application Form is divided into three Parts, i.e., Registration Details, Academic Details, Basic Details. Student should fill in all required details in the application form and Upload all supporting documents with the application form. Finally, click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.
- Print the Application Form
After clicking on the submit button, your application will be submitted successfully. Now, print and save application form further reference.
Documents Needed to Apply /List of essential documents
- Death certificate of father and mother explicitly mentioning that the death was due to Covid-19 or orphan certificate issued by SDM or Tehsildar.
- Bonafide certificate issued by the respective institution.
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheet
- Category certificate if required.
- Shaheed certificate issued by the armed forces or central paramilitary forces.
- Annual family income certificate
Selection Process For AICTE SWANATH Scholarship
The selection of candidates will be done solely on the basis of merit of qualifying examination which is class 12 marks for a degree course and class 10 marks for a Diploma course.
