With the intention that financially backward students should not stay away from studies, the Central Government recognizes the talents of students through the National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) examination and provides them with a scholarship of Rs.12,000 per annum.
What is the Telangana NMMS Eligibility Criteria?
To apply for the Telangana NMMS scholarship scheme, students from other caste (OC) and backward caste (BC) categories must have scored at least 55% of marks in class 7.
Those belonging to SC and ST categories must have scored at least 50% marks or equivalent in the class 7 examination during the academic year 2022-23.
How much is the TG NMMS Application Fee?
Students in the OC and BC categories must submit an examination fee of Rs 100, while SC, ST, and PH students will have to pay Rs 50.

To get this scholarship, you must show your talent in the NMMS exam first. For students who pass this exam, the scholarship will be offered for four years at the rate of one thousand rupees.
Notably, most students from poor families show their talents in this annual examination. The Department of Education is inviting applications to conduct the examination this year as well.
Steps to complete the TG NMMS Registration 2025
Directorate Of Government Examinations, Telangana State, has enabled the TG NMMS Registration link on its official website, https://bse.telangana.gov.in/.
Students interested in applying for this exam can check the details and complete the registration process as per the schedule.
For the schools recognised by the Government of Telangana, the User Name and Password are the same, i.e., your SSC School Code. Candidates eligible for this exam can follow the steps below to submit the online application.
- Open the BSE Telangana official website, www.bse.telangana.gov.in in any web browser, then web page will be displayed.
- When you reach the official website, click on the ‘NMMS’ link, which is displayed at the bottom left of the page under the NMMS and NTSE section. Then, the NTSE Web page will be displayed on your device.
- Once you reach the NMMS web page, click the NMMS Online application link. Then, the NMMS Registration web portal will be displayed.
- In the NMMS Registration web portal, enter the User ID and Password in the required fields and click the login button. Then, the Telangana NMMS application will be opened.
- After logging in, the instructions web page will open for candidates applying for the Telangana NTSE exam. On this page, read all the instructions and click on ‘If You Agreed to Proceed Next’.
- Once you reach the NMMS Examination online application, fill out all the columns and upload the photo with your signature by clicking on the browse button.
- The photo size with the signature should be less than 30 KB, and the format should be an image.
- After filling in all the details, click on the submit application button. Your application will be submitted successfully.
- After submitting the online application form, click on the SBI collect link on the web page. Then, the payment gateway will appear.
- Pay the examination fee through this method.
- After uploading the details of all students, click on the ‘Report’ at the top of the application form.
- Then click on the ‘PDF’ link to display Nominal Roll.
- Take a printout of the Nominal Roll and submit it to the District Educational Officer concerned. The head of the institution concerned attested two sets of nominal rolls.
- Application of each candidate attested by the Head of the Institution concerned (Attested copy of Caste and Medical Certificate in case of SC/ST/PH should be enclosed) with Original Challan.
(Printed Application form & Nominal Rolls must be attested by the concerned Head Master.) Attested copies of the caste certificates for SC/ST candidates, OBC & non-creamy layer certificates for OBC candidates, and medical certificates for PH candidates should be enclosed.
The Examination fee is Rs.100/- (Rupees Hundred only) per candidate. The examination fee has to be paid in the form of Challan to the following Head of Account drawn only in SBI where the Challan (Treasury) facility is available. (DDs are not acceptable)

To register for application forms online, visit this office website, ‘bse.telangana.gov.in’, and print out the application forms. Nominal Rolls should be submitted in the DEO’s office of the District concerned only.
The concerned District Educational Officer or Office of the Director of Government Examinations., TG, Hyderabad, may be contacted for further details. The above dates will not be extended at any cost.

Instructions to candidate:
- All candidates, i.e., General, SC, ST, and BC candidates, should upload an income certificate with not more than Rs.3,50,000/—issued by MROs of Telangana state only along with the application without fail.
- Candidates who have not obtained an income certificate by the time they submit the NMMSE application form for this year should submit a self-declaration in proforma as stated below. The candidates who submit the self-declaration should upload the income certificate within the given time.
- Otherwise, their application will be cancelled/invalid, and they will not be permitted to write NMMSE for the year 2025.
- Only SC, ST, and BC candidates’ Caste certificates issued by the Government of Telangana state should be uploaded along with the application without fail. Others will be treated as general candidates for the year 2025.
- Candidates who have not obtained a caste certificate by the time of submission of the application form of NMMSE for the year 2025.
- Should submit a self-declaration in proforma as stated below, and the candidates who submit the said self-declaration should upload the relevant caste certificates within the given time. Otherwise, they will be treated as general candidates.

To apply for the TG NMMS Exam, candidates should follow the given steps
- Open www.bse.telangana.gov.in in any web browser, and the following page will be displayed. Then click on the “NMMS” link at the bottom left of the page (rounded in red).
- Once the particular screen is displayed, click on the link “NMMS Application” (rounded in red).
- After clicking on the link “NMMS Application,” the following screen will appear. To open the application form, enter the User ID and Password (i.e., your UDISE Code) (in the boxes rounded in red).
- After login, the screen, i.e., the NMMS Application Form, will be displayed to make necessary entries of the students appearing in NMMS.
- Fill all the columns in the application and upload the photo with signature by clicking on the browse button. The size of the photo with signature should be less than 30 KB and the format should be of image.
- Click on the browse button to upload the caste certificates for SC/ST/BC candidates and medical certificates for handicapped candidates.
- After filling all the candidate details, click on “Submit Application” (rounded in red) and take the printout of the application. Likewise, enter the details of each student one by one using the same procedure.
- After uploading all students’ details, click “Report” at the top of the application form. Then click on the “PDF” link (rounded in red) to display the Nominal Roll.
- After clicking on the “PDF” link, the following screen will be displayed to take a printout of Nominal Roll.
- Check the details of all the students appearing in the NMMS November 2025 Examination to rectify any mistakes. To pay the fee, click on the link SBI Collect (rounded in red).
- After clicking on the link SBI Collect, the screen will be displayed. Then select the checkbox and Proceed for payment, which is rounded in red.
- After clicking on the Proceed button, the web page screen will be displayed. Select the State of the Corporate/Institution as Telangana and the Type of Corporate/ Institute as a Government department. Click on the Go button.
- After clicking on the Go button, the screen will be displayed. Select the Government department name as DIRECTOR OF GOVT. EXAMS TS and click on the Submit button to proceed.
- The screen will appear after you click on the Submit button. Select the payment category NMMS November 2025 FEE, which is rounded in red.
- After selecting Payment Category as NMMS November 2025 FEE, the screen will appear. Make all necessary entries and click on the Submit Button.
- After clicking on the Submit button, the screen will be displayed. Verify the details once and click on the Confirm button, which is rounded in red.
- After clicking on the Confirm button, the payment gateway screen will be displayed. Choose your mode of payment from the available options.
- After selecting your mode of payment, such as a Debit or credit Card, the screen will be displayed. Enter the necessary entries and click on the red-rounded Pay button to proceed.
- The payment receipt will be displayed after clicking the Pay button, which is rounded in red. Further, click on the link Click here to view/ download the e-receipt to print out the receipt.
- The payment receipt will be displayed below. Click on the Print button to take the printout.
- Finally, submit the following in the O/o to the District Educational Officer concerned.
- i. the head of the institution concerned attested two sets of nominal rolls.
- ii. Application of each candidate attested by the Head of the Institution concerned (Attested copies of Caste and Medical Certificates in case of BC/SC/ST/PH should be enclosed).
- iii. Fee receipt.

What is the Telangana Exam Pattern?
The exam will consist of a Mental Ability Test (MAT) featuring 90 marks in multiple-choice questions and a Scholastic Ability Test (SAT) featuring 90 marks in sciences, mathematics, and social sciences questions of classes 7 and 8. Each question carries one mark. Time is one minute for one question.
The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40 percent, and in the case of SC and ST students, the cut-off will be 32 percent.
The official notice states that selection will be made as per merit subject to district-wise and community-wise quota allotted as per norms issued by MHRD New Delhi.
