The course will commence in October 2020 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Read below to know more about eligibility, selection process, and other related details.
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the two-stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-1 will go to Stage-2. Those who fail in Stage-1 will be returned on the same day. A medical examination will also be conducted for the selected candidates. – SSC Course Official Notification
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination). The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State. Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.
Age Limit: The age limit should be between 21 years of age to 27 years of age as of July 1, 2020.
Selected candidates will be detailed Pre-Commission for training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Chennai according to their position in the final order of merit, up to the number of available vacancies, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria
The duration of training at OTA, Chennai is 49 weeks. Candidates who successfully complete the Pre-Commission training will be awarded ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies’ by the University of Madras. An officer will be on probation for a period of 6 months from the date of receiving the commission.
