The course will commence in October 2023 at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Read below to know more about eligibility, selection process, and other related details.
Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification: Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination). The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State. Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.
Age Limit: The age limit should be between 21 years of age to 27 years of age as of July 1 .
Nationality-A candidate must either be: (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Nepal, (iii) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the two-stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-1 will go to Stage-2. Those who fail in Stage-1 will be returned on the same day. A medical examination will also be conducted for the selected candidates.
Tenure and Salary: The selected candidates will remain on probation period for six months from the date he/she receives his/her commission. These officers will receive the payment of Rs.56,100 per month to Rs.2,18,200 depending upon their ranks.

Selected candidates will be detailed Pre-Commission for training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Chennai according to their position in the final order of merit, up to the number of available vacancies, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria
The duration of training at OTA, Chennai is 49 weeks. Candidates who successfully complete the Pre-Commission training will be awarded ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies’ by the University of Madras. What is the eligibility criteria for Indian Army SSC Recruitment?
SSC: Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply. SSCW: Graduation in any discipline for Non Technical and B.E/B.Tech in any engineering stream for Technical. The age limit for SSC Tech is 20 to 27 years of age and for Widows is maximum of 35 years of age as on October 1, 2023.
