Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools Admissions Criteria:

Admission to KV schools takes place according to priority categories. As per the guidelines, categories 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are for central government employees, employees of autonomous bodies under the central government, state government employees, employees of autonomous bodies under the state government, and self-employed/ private job / floating population, respectively.

The admissions methods for Classes 2-8, 9, and 11 are different. Admission to classes 2-8 is done on a priority category basis. If the number of applicants is more than the total available seats, then a lottery system runs for each category.

Candidates availing KV admission must-have a list of required documents. These are a valid birth certificate, proof of relationship in case the parent or grandparent member of Parliament or PSU employee, caste category certificate, PWD certificate, service/transfer certificate (if applicable), certificate of retirement (uniformed defense employees), address proof.

In the case of category 1-4, the principal will verify the validity of certificates. Incomplete or incorrect forms will be duly rejected.

However, in case seats are left vacant, the principal may allow completion of the pending forms. Any notification regarding this will be uploaded in May and June.

KVS offers admission according to the reservation criteria under the RTE Act 2009. Out of the total seats, 15 percent and 7.5 percent are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Schedule Tribe (ST), respectively. A total of 3 percent of seats are reserved for persons with disabilities.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will release the first merit list for classes 2 to 11. The admission process for these classes begins on September 15. Parents can apply for their child’s admission after finding his/her name on the merit list.
