The centrally sponsored program of Samagra Shiksha has a component of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in schools. Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) introduced a national award for teachers who use ICT in education. The award is to felicitate those teachers who have enhanced student learning by effectively and innovatively integrating technology-supported learning into the school curriculum and subject teaching, thereby promoting inquiry-based, cooperative, collaborative learning.
In 2025, they invited applications from teachers who effectively use ICT in their teaching-learning process. This is the first time they have accepted self-nominations in the online mode.

National ICT Award 2025 For School Teachers:
The Central Institute of Educational Technology under the National Council of Educational Research and Training (CIET-NCERT) is all set to host the National ICT Award 2022 For School Teachers on Monday, February 28.
The award ceremony will be held from 11 am onwards at Nalanda Auditorium, Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. To grace the occasion of the National ICT Award For School Teachers, Minister of State for Education, Govt of India, Annapurna Devi, has been invited as the chief guest.
List of selected School Teachers for the National ICT Award for the years 2018 and 2019: As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, a jury was constituted at the national level to select the teachers for the National ICT Award for the years 2018 and 2019.
The jury thoroughly considered 205 entries received from 28 States/ UTS and 05 autonomous bodies and evaluated the presentations made by 204 candidates online from 5th to 11th February 2021.
Based on the detailed online presentation made by the teachers about their work in ICT and their interaction, the jury recommended the names of the following teachers for the National ICT Award for School Teachers 2018 and 2019. The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, has also approved the list of awardees.
Formal intimation will be sent to all selected teachers and their deputing authority on their registered email addresses. The date of the award ceremony and mode of event are to be announced as and when decided.
ICT National Award 2021: 25 Teachers won the national ICT award. They will receive the award from President Ramnath Kovind—25 teachers selected for this national award nationwide. The date of the award presentation is due for declaration.

National ICT Awards, The ‘Information and Communication Technology in School (ICT in Schools),’ a component of the Integrated RMSA Scheme, to promote computer-enabled learning and usage of ICT in teaching in Government and Government Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.
A new component, “National Award for Teachers for Use of ICT in Education,” is given annually to motivate teachers and teacher educators to innovative use of ICT in teaching-learning.
As per the guidelines of the Scheme, the Awards Committee started the selection process for identifying the Awardee Teachers soon after receiving entries (for the year 2017) from different States/UTs and autonomous organizations (through proper channels).
In this regard, a meeting of the Awards Committee was organized at NCERT, New Delhi. During the meeting, the awards committee interacted with the nominated teachers and short-listed and recommended 09 awardees to the MHRD, Govt. of India, for consideration and approval.

Further, it is to inform you that the ceremony for giving the National ICT Awards has been scheduled for 5th September at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Therefore, you are requested to attend the National ICT Award ceremony from 2-6 September.
The expenditure towards participation in the ceremony, i.e., TA/DA (restricted to AC II Tier/ 2nd AC train fare only; Air travel is not admissible for reimbursement), local conveyance, etc., shall be reimbursed by NCERT as per your entitlement and NCERT norms. The National ICT Award winners are allowed to bring only one escort with them. Children below 14 years of age are not allowed.
NCERT will also bear the escort’s travel expenses as per its norms (II AC train fare). Accommodation (AC Rooms) for awardees and their escorts (only one Escort is permissible) has been arranged in NIE Guest House, NCERT, New Delhi- 110016.
Entry to the ceremony venue is restricted to one escort per Awardee. Therefore, the Awardees are requested to mail us their names—address and relationship of the escort within one week to enable us to take the required security clearance.
Please carry your identity card and identity proof of your escort as well. All the awardees are to report to the NIE, Guest House, NCERT, New Delhi on 2nd September 2015 forenoon positively. Further program details will be available upon arrival at NIE Guest House, NCERT, New Delhi.
