The Ministry of Defence has announced that the Sainik School Society (SSS) will soon come up with an automated system for the conduct of e-counselling i.e., Sainik School Admission Counselling 2023. This decision has been taken to ensure transparency in the admission process.
E-Counselling would be conducted by SSS for students seeking admission into 100 new Sainik Schools. This new AISSEE e-counselling system will be first initiated in the new schools that are being set up. Interested students can visit the official website, sainikschool.ncog.gov.in to register and verify all details and processes.
According to officials, It will be applicable to the new schools being set up as part of the Government’s vision to provide an opportunity for students throughout the country to move in tune with National Education Policy along with following the Sainik School curriculum.
Sainik School Admission Counselling
The Sainik School admission process for the 10 newly approved Sainik Schools has been started. The Sainik Schools Society (SSS) has declared the first provisional list of 485 shortlisted candidates in the newly approved schools. The candidature will be filled through the automated system for the conduct of e-counselling where at least 40 per cent of seats in these newly approved Sainik Schools, will be filled by candidates already qualified in AISSEE 2023.
With the declaration of the result of e-counselling on May 21, on the portal https://sainikschool.ncog.gov.in/ecounselling, Sainik Schools Society has moved one more step ahead in the direction of the Government’s aim of setting up of 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership mode throughout the country.
“The portal for admission into new Sainik Schools with whom the society has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was activated from May 8 to May 14, 2022, wherein 12,000 AISSEE qualified candidates got themselves registered for the e-counselling” According to web portal.
Candidates can check the results and further instructions related to admission on the official website. The Defence Ministry said that the candidates had the option to select up to ten schools for allocation. Subsequently, based on the rank and priority of the students for the schools, automated allocation of students for the schools was carried out where after the provisionally shortlisted candidate is required to accept the allotment and proceed for the admission formalities or indicate the option to be considered for the second round of counselling or unwillingness for further consideration.
Dates for physical verification at the respective School level will be intimated to the candidates who have accepted or locked their choices by the approved new Sainik Schools to the candidates. Seats not filled after the specified date of completion of the round 1 will be filled through the round 2 of counselling for which the dates will be announced in the portal
Apart from this, upto 60 per cent of students will be admitted from eligible students already studying in the newly-approved Sainik schools. For such students, a separate qualifying admission test (New Sainik Schools Entrance Examination-NSSEE 22) will be held by National Testing agency (NTA) shortly. This admission test will be on the similar pattern as that of AISSEE.
The registration process for the admission of such eligible students already studying in these newly approved Sainik Schools and desirous of admission in Sainik school vertical in their concerned school, will be opened shortly and date of admission test will be announced through NTA portal – Source: AISSEE Web Portal

When the process is up and running, the Sainik Schools Society will intimate students to apply for e-counselling, and will also release the deadlines through different platforms. After that, those who score more than the qualifying marks will be sent an individual link through the registered phone number or email address. At the same time, new Sainik Schools will be provided with suitable access rights to provide category and gender-wise information as well as a number of vacancies.
Students will be allowed to choose 10 schools as their choice of allocation. They will be allocated a school according to the system based on their rank and choice of the schools. The final result will be then declared at the e-counselling portal. Students can either accept the allocated choice of school or indicate to authorities their alternate choice for round two of counselling. Candidates who want to pull out of the admission process should let the authorities know at this point itself.
Finalised candidates will then be sent details such as date, time and place for physical verification, and the candidates who are not selected in round one will then be considered for round two of counselling, only if seats remain vacant.
