In 2024, the Telangana State government has made some significant changes to the school timings for Primary, Upper Primary, and High Schools across the state.
These new timings are designed to improve the overall learning experience for students, cater to their different age groups, and enhance their academic performance.
Over the years, educators and policymakers have recognized the importance of aligning school schedules with students’ natural biological rhythms.
The traditional 9-to-3 school timings often did not consider the varying sleep patterns and attention spans of different age groups. The revised school timings aim to address this issue and provide a more conducive learning environment.
TG School Timings 2024
The Telangana State government has announced new school timings for the academic year 2024-2025. The new timings are in line with the Right to Education (RTE) Act, which mandates that all schools must provide at least 7 hours of schooling per day. The lunch break will be from 12:10 PM to 12:55 PM.
Director of School Education, Telangana changed the TG School timings of primary and upper primary schools in all districts, which will now start from 9.00 am.
- Primary schools will function from 09.00 AM to 04.00 PM.
- Upper primary schools will function from 09.00 AM to 04.15 PM.
- The primary section of the Upper Primary Schools (class 1 to 5) will function from 09.00 AM to 04.00 PM.
In case of the twin cities, there is no change in the timings of school and hence will follow the timings as given in the academic calendar.
