- At the time of selection for award of scholarship, the candidate must have scored at least 60% marks or equivalent grade/ grade point in the recent final examination.
- There will be 5% relaxation for SC/ ST.
Postal Scholarship Selection Procedure
- Selections under the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana would be made based on the evaluation of Project work on Philately & performance in Philately Quiz conducted by the Circles.
- A committee constituted at the circle level consisting of Postal Officials and renowned Philatelists would evaluate the Project work on Philately submitted by the candidate.
- List of Topics on which Project has to be made would be provided by the circles while issuing the notifications.
What is the Postal Scholarship Exam Pattern?
Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana competitive examination will be conducted The first step involves a screening test. In the second phase there work.
The screening test consists of 50 multiple choice questions from in two phases. will be project the subjects of General Knowledge, Stamps, History, Sports, Science and Current Affairs.
Students who pass this will have to do the second phase of the project. In this, students have to choose any subject in the categories of animals, birds, places, flowers, music and complete the project work at home.
Students have to complete project work not exceeding 4 or 5 pages with 16 stamps. The completed project should be sent to the address of the Regional Office of the concerned postal department.
Disbursement of Scholarship
The awardees will be asked to open Joint account with parents in India Post Payment Bank or Post Office Savings Bank in a branch, which has a core banking facility.
Each Postal Circle will select the awardees and hand over the list of beneficiaries to IPPB/POSB for payment of scholarship.
IPPB/ POSB will ensure that the scholarship is paid to awardees on a quarterly basis (Rs. 1500/- each quarter) after getting the list from each Circle.
Postal Scholarship Amount
Selected scholars are awarded a scholarship of Rs. 6,000 per year. The scholarship is paid in two installments, of Rs. 3,000 each.
The first installment is paid at the beginning of the academic year and the second installment is paid at the end of the year.
