The India Post, West Bengal Postal Circle Department has released a notification for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies in various divisions. The candidates who are interested in applying for the India Postal Circle GDS vacancies.

India Post has invited online applications for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the posts online at appost.in on or before the end date.

Eligibility Criteria: (a) Age limit: A candidate should be between 18 to 40 years old. The upper age limit will be five years for SC, three years for OBC, and 10 years for disabled candidates.

The minimum and maximum age for engagement to GDS posts should be 18 and 40 years respectively as on the date of notification of the vacancies.

(b) Educational Qualification: A candidate should have passed class 10 from any recognized board of school education. Candidates who have passed the class 10 boards in the first attempt will be given preferences.

(c) Compulsory knowledge of Local Language: The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India.

(d) Basic Computer Training: A candidate should be able to furnish 60 days of the basic computer training certificate from any Computer Training Institute run by Central/State Government /Universities / Boards / Private Institutions.

However, the requirement of a basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxed if a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or class 12th or at any other higher educational level.

    Candidates who have passed tenth standard Secondary School Examination certificates with passing marks in Mathematics, local language Bengali, and English from any recognised Board of School Education in India by the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories in India can apply. The candidate should have studied the native language at least till the ninth standard.
