NEET UG 2025 is an MBBS BDS Medical Entrance Test

NEET UG 2025 or NEET UG MBBS BDS Medical Entrance Test 2025 notification has been released by the National Testing Agency on its web portal of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test.

NEET UG is an eligibility test for admission to undergraduate medical and allied programmes (MBBS BDS Courses) in the country. More details are available at https://neet.ntaonline.in.

The application form of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be available soon from the NTA website.

The NTA has activated the NEET official website. The NEET application form and the information brochure are expected to be released soon.

The National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs will be held in May 2025 in 11 languages.

The National Testing Agency, NTA, is expected to release the application form for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, NEET UG, soon on the official website ntaneet.nic.in. Usually, the NEET UG application windows are open.

The NTA has released the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG exam schedule in March.

The exam will be in Hindi, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.

NTA will conduct the NEET UG for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses as per the relevant norms, guidelines, and regulations notified by the regulatory bodies concerned.

Candidates who want to get admission for undergraduate medical, dental, or allied-field courses in India must qualify for NEET.

Candidates preparing for NEET can check the details below, including eligibility criteria, application details, exam pattern, etc., before registering for the entrance examination.

National Testing Agency, NTA would conduct NEET for undergraduate medical and dental examinations admission.

The registration process will be completely online, and interested candidates are required to apply online at neet.nta.nic.in.

Also, candidates interested in AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS programs should note that they are also required to appear for the NEET examination.

NEET will be the only medical entrance examination in India. The Health Minister stated that admission to both AIIMS and JIPMER will also come under the ambit of the NEET examination as per the newly constituted NMC Act 2019.

Students who want to study BSc Nursing and Health Sciences should also apply for NEET. This will be the first time the exam will be used for admission to these courses.

Medical Entrance Exam NEET UG for Undergraduate Admissions

  • The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the national entrance test for medical admissions. It will be held in May. For this, prepayers must follow the timetable every day.
  • It would be best to focus your energies on testing to write well when the test is done without trusting the rumors.
  • Competition is the most likely test. Every subject is key to this, so prepare to continue focusing on all subjects.
  • Solving Previous Years Papers and getting a full grip on the respective chapters is necessary.
  • Model questions on the topics should be practiced by revising the topics already read by Inter for the first/second year without getting into new chapters.
  • If you have any questions, there are many free video lessons online. Listening to them or resolving doubts with lecturers on the phone is advisable.
  • There are model tests online. To focus on the weak points, write them every three days and analyze them periodically.
  • If you continue to prepare regularly every day, you can succeed.
  • Try to achieve full marks in Biology (Botany and Zoology). At the same time, if you have a physics phobia, practice the questions and problems in the Previous Year Paper.
  • A little bit of chemistry can achieve the full score. It is better to highlight formulas with a pen or write them down in a note chapter.

National Testing Agency, NTA, would be conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET, only once a year across centers in the country. The examination would now be conducted in the same pattern as this year, in pen and paper mode.

All students and interested applicants are also informed that NEET UG is the only medical entrance examination for admission to the country’s MBBS and BDS or medical and dental colleges.

The NEET UG scores would apply to all government, government-aided, and private medical colleges in the country.

All candidates are advised to note that the detailed NEET notification will be available on the official website. It is important to read the detailed notification carefully before completing the online application form.

Also, apart from the AIIMS MBBS entrance test and the JIPMER MBBS test, only NEET scores are valid for admission to all MBBS and BDS courses in the country.

Admissions to the Armed Forces Medical College, AFMC, will also be done based on NEET scores. Students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh can participate in the all-India quota.

This means that 15 percent of the MBBS and BDS seats available in government medical and dental colleges in the two Telugu states will be available for students from other states.

Similarly, candidates from the two Telugu states can now apply for seats under the all-India quota. Currently, there are 1,100 MBBS seats in government colleges, of which 165 will be available in the national pool.

Candidates aspiring to take admissions in UG Medical and Dental courses, viz MBBS and BDS, for the academic year 2025-26 in government and private medical colleges of the country (except AIIMS and JIPMER) must keep a tab on the official website to apply for NEET.

Since last year, admission to MBBS courses in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has been held through NEET. Moreover, five extra seats are reserved for children of Kashmiri migrants, Kashmiri pandits, or Hindu families in college admissions.

NEET UG Exam Date 2025

NEET exam is expected to be held on 5th May and the syllabus has been uploaded to the official website of NTA NEET, neet.nta.nic.in.

  • State/Management/NRI quota seats in private medical/dental colleges or any private/deemed university central pool quota seats.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET UG:

(NEET Eligibility) The eligibility criteria remain more or less the same. Students who have appeared or will be appearing in their Class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Also, the minimum age requirement for appearing in NEET is 17 as of 31.12.2025. The upper age limit, as per the notification, is 25 as of the date of examination.

Also, please note that candidates are allowed a maximum of 3 attempts to appear in NEET. NEET 2017 was considered the first attempt. Students who fulfil the criteria mentioned can appear for NEET.

For candidates who appeared in 2017 and are planning to re-appear, NEET would be the last attempt. All candidates are hence advised to carefully go through the instructions before filling the online application form.

NEET Syllabus not to be changed, NTA issues notification: The NTA has issued an official notification on its website, NTAneet.nic.in, denying any changes that were speculated to be made in the NEET UG syllabus. There were rumors that the state curriculum might be included in the syllabus.

The notice issued by the NTA states, “The syllabus of NEET (UG) will be exactly same as it was for NEET (UG) 2017. There is no change in the syllabus of NEET (UG)”. The NEET notification is expected to be released anytime soon.

NEET UG exam pattern

One paper will contain 180 objective-type questions (four options with a single correct answer) from physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology). The NEET Exam will be held in offline mode and will be worth 720 marks. While the Physics and Chemistry sections will carry 180 marks each, 360 marks will be given to the Biology section.  

The paper will last three hours, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Question papers can be obtained in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada.

NEET UG Admit Card

The NTA will provide the facility of downloading NEET (UG) admit cards on the Board’s website, along with a format for affixing a Postcard-Size photograph. Candidates are required to download the admit cards from the website and follow the instructions given therein.

The candidate may please note that admit cards will not be sent by post. When the candidate downloads the Admit Card, a copy of the same in PDF format will also be emailed to the candidate on the registered email ID.

The Admit Card will bear the candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub-Category, Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, and Language of Question Paper with Name and Address of examination center allotted. The candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for all the entries made therein.

NEET Result: The NEET (UG) result may be utilised by other Entities of Central/State Governments (including Indian Nursing Council/ Nursing Colleges/Schools, JIPMER) for counselling/admission to relevant courses, including BSc (Nursing) and BSc (Life Sciences), in accordance with their rules/ norms/guidelines.

How to Apply for NEET UG?

Candidates are reminded that only online application forms for NEET will be accepted. To apply, students must log in to the official website of NEET, NTAneet.nic.in, and click on the Apply Online link.

Follow the instructions and upload the image and your signature to complete the form. All students are also reminded that the allocation of examination cities will be strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Hence, it is always advisable to apply as soon as possible.

Steps to Apply for NEET UG

  • Visit the nearest Common Service Centers (CSCs) between 9:30 am and 6 pm
  • Contact the Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) present there and ask him/her to facilitate in filling the NEET application form
  • Provide the details required for filling the NEET application form to the VLE
  • Pay the NEET application fee
