The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) was conducted on September 12 across the country for admissions in MBBS and BDS courses (2021-22). More than 14.37 lakh people (90 per cent) attended the exam. The results of the exams would be released by the authorities on Friday through the website

The final ‘Answer’ keys will also to be released. Preliminary answer keys and student OMR sheets have already been released. More than 14 lakh students across the country appeared for the exam, which was conducted by the National Examinations Authority (NTA).

Admissions are available for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSC and AH courses based on NEET UG 2021 results. That the entrance test was conducted on September 12 following the rules of Covid-19. Students can find out the results through the NEET UG website.

The NEET (UG) 2021 was conducted by the NTA at various test centres across the nation. The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank merit list” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for supplying the result to states/other counselling authorities.

All the candidates qualifying NEET (UG)  2021 would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State Governments/Institutes, irrespective of the medium of the examination, subject to other eligibility criteria.

NEET 2021 was conducted in pen and paper based mode and in 8 regional languages apart from in English, Hindi and Urdu. CBSE has declared NEET Results 2021 ton June 4 on the official websites.

NEET 2021 Result Important things: NTA would be releasing the scores of the candidates who have appeared for the NEET UG 2021 examination. The cumulative scorecard would be available on the login portal on which would be activated once results are released.

NTA would also be releasing the All India Merit List or the All India Ranks. Candidates would be able to check their AIR Rank in their score card. In case a candidate has opted out of the All India Rank list, his/her rank would not be provided.

NTA would also preparing a state wise merit list which would be shared with the respective agencies of the state that would then release the state wise merit lists in accordance to the counselling.

NTA would not conduct the NEET 2021 counselling. The counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses would be conducted by MCC or Medical Counselling Committee. The schedule would be released on the official website

Qualifying NEET 2021 does not guarantee admission to a medical college in the country. Students have to register for counselling and present themselves along with the requisite documentation to be allotted a seat as per the availability.

  • Result has been prepared based on the information provided by the candidates in their online application form.
  • The information submitted by candidates is subject to verification by admitting authorities.
  • Candidates if found submitting wrong information, will be considered as using unfair practices and their candidature will be cancelled at any stage.
  • In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in NEET (UG) – 2021 , the inter-se-merit of such candidates has been determined as per Rule 2 of Chapter-6 of Information Bulletin of NEET (UG) -2021 .
  • NTA has declared only All India Rank and All India Quota Rank.
  • Candidates may apply to the designated Counselling Authorities as per their eligibility.
  • NTA has no role to play in it. 
  • Details of the various Counselling Authorities are given in Appendix-IV of Information Bulletin.
  • The same may also be confirmed from respective websites.
  • NTA is not responsible for change of any of the addresses though care has been taken to put correct addresses. 
  • Counselling Authorities will invite applications from the successful candidates and prepare their own merit list as per their rules based on All India Rank. 
  • In NEET result, category of the candidates is as per details submitted by them in online form. These have been used to prepare the Merit List for 15 % All India Quota seats.
  • In case, if the category of candidate falls under any other category in the State Category List, candidates may apply to designated Counseling Authorities with their category as per State Category List, and designated Counselling Authorities will verify the same.
  • The same is the case with domicile. Domicile will be governed by respective admitting authority rules.
  • NTA will not change any details of the candidates after declaration of result. 
  • All candidates are advised to remain in touch with the websites of Counselling Authorities for updates.
  • Qualified Candidates having Benchmark Disabilities may refer to Chapter 3 { 5 (a-iv)} of Information Bulletin. 
  • Qualifying in NEET (UG) 2021 does not confer any right for admission in Medical/Dental Colleges.
  • Selection of qualified candidates in NEET (UG) 2021 for admission to Medical/Dental Colleges is subject to merit position and satisfying the admission criteria as laid down in the rules of Central Government/State Government/Universities/Institutions concerned. 


  • Percentile Scores are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination. 
  • The Percentile scores of a Candidate have been calculated as follows: 1 0 0 X Number of candidates appeared in the examination with raw score LESS than the candidate Total number of the candidates appeared in the examination 
  • Percentile Score is not the same as percentage of marks obtained. 
  • Total Percentile Score is NOT an aggregate or average of the Percentile Scores of individual subjects. 

NTA NEET UG 2021 Admission and Reservation:

An All India Merit List of the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of All India Rank in the Merit List of the NEET (UG) 2021 and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS Courses from the said list only by following the already existing reservation policy

NTA will provide All India Rank. Admitting Authorities will invite applications for counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the admitting authorities. Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses within the respective categories shall be based solely on All India Rank as per merit list of NEET (UG) 2021.

Reservation of seats in government medical colleges under 15% All India Quota:

  • 15% seats are reserved for SC candidates.
  • 7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates
  • 27% seats in Central Educational Institutions are reserved for OBC candidates only as per Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in 15 Admissions) Act, 2006.

Note: Reservation would be applicable to the castes mentioned in the Central list of OBC. Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column in application form.

Candidates from creamy layer and those who do not come under Central List of OBC are advised to mention their category as Unreserved (UR).  For the latest updates on results, all the candidates are advised to keep a close check on the official website of NTA NEET.

How to calculate NEET scores?

As per the marking scheme, four marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates should refer to the NEET answer key 2021 and count all the correct and wrong answers and calculate their overall marks as per the marking scheme. Here are the steps to calculate expected scores.

  • Download NEET answer key for particular question paper code
  • Count the number of correct and incorrect answers
  • As per the marking scheme, multiply total correct answers with 4 and total wrong answers with 1
  • Now, subtract the total wrong attempts from total correct answers to get the NEET expected score

NEET scores = total correct answers X 4 – total incorrect answers X 1

NEET 2021 cut-off:

After calculating the probable scores, aspirants can refer to the NEET cut off percentile and marks to pass the entrance exam. The cut off percentile remains the same every year, while the corresponding marks change. Check the NEET-UG cut-off percentile and previous year marks to get an idea of qualifying the medical entrance exam.
