In this connection Concern over increase number of Road Accidents in the State involving buses. So, in this regarding One day training Programme will be conducted to school bus drivers and School Managements and health verification camps would be conducted for all school bus drivers. Accordingly detailed instructions have been given by Transport Commissioner(FAC) to the R.T.Os/D.T.Cs to organize one day training-programme cum health verification camps for all school bus drivers. Unsafe driving of vehicles including school-buses is a cause of serious concern. Recent incident of school bus-train collision at Masaipet has taken precious lives of many innocent children. Government have specially amended Motor Vehicles Rules the form of Rule 185 Motor Vehicles Rules to bring in more discipline in the system. Detailed instructions have been given to the R.T.Os/D.T.Cs to organize one day training-programme cum health verification camps for all school bus drivers. A copy of G.O.Ms. No. 35 Transport R&B Department, dated 16-3-2011 is sent herewith for their guidance. Transport Commissioner(FAC) has requested them to give instructions to DM&HO to depute Medical Officers for checking health records of drivers.
He shall be grateful if they could hold a small meeting with DM & HO, DEO, DTC / RTO and see the training programmes are organized effectively. In order to ensure maximum participation of drivers, training programmes are proposed at Unit level and shall be organized only on Sundays so that there is no dislocation of School timings. They may kindly see that schedule of trainings is drawn up so as to complete the programmes before August 15th of 2014.
