Badi Bata 2025 Porgramme has been launched by Director of School Education in all Schools in Telangana State. It is special enrollment drive progeamme to complete admissions for 2025-26.

Badi Bata will be conducted every year in June 1st week in all Govt/ Zilla parishad schools across Telangana state for enrollment of all school age children with community mobilization.

The Badi Bata Programme is a School Enrollment Drive Program. It is a remarkable initiative by the Telangana government to enhance school enrollments and improve education in the state.

Badi Bata Objectives

Special enrollment drive in the name of “Prof. Jayashankar Badi Bata” is scheduled to be taken up in all the Schools in the State from 06-06-2025 to 19-06-2025 to enroll all the school age children in Schools.

The Badi Bara objectives are as follows:

  • Identification of all the school age children in all the habitations and enroll them in the nearest schools.
  • Increasing the enrollment in Government Schools and to provide quality education.
  • Strengthening of Government Schools with the support of community participation (community support).
  • Identification of 5 years old children from the nearby Anganwadi Centers and join them in the Government Schools.
  • Updating Village Education Register (VER).
  • Enrolling children who have completed 5th class in Upper Primary School / High School and enrollment of children who have completed 7th/ 8thclass in High School (Plan to ensure 100% transition of children).
  • Identifying schools with low enrollment and prepare a special plan to increase number of students with parental involvement.
  • To identify out of school children and enroll them in the relevant class according to their age.

Badibata programme has to be taken up as mentioned below and the detailed guidelines for conduct of these activities has bee released.

  • Conduct of preparatory activities at District, Mandal and at School Level as per annexure for preparation of action plan, making necessary arrangements etc.
  • Enrollment drive under Badi Bara in all the Villages/Habitations.
  • Conduct of Badi Bata day wise activities at School Level as per the schedule.

The HMs of Schools are permitted to meet the expenditure towards preparation of banner and pamphlets at School Level for Badi Bata Programme from the School Grant of respective Schools.

Top 10 Schools and Top 3 Districts

Further, 3 top Districts and 10 top Schools in the State which implement the programme successfully and more number of children are enrolled under Badi Bata in the respective Districts / Schools will be felicitated by Government.

The State government will felicitate the top three districts and top 10 schools that successfully implement the Badi Bata programme and enroll a large number of children.

Respective school Heads of Departments (HMs) and Mandal Educational Officers (MEOs) are required to upload the names of newly admitted children, those enrolled from Anganwadi centers, and those enrolled from private schools on the ISMS portal (www.schooledu.telangana.gov.in) daily during the programme.

Enrolment Drive Activities under Badi Bata

Enrolment Drive under Badi Bata will be conducted daily. The following activities shall be taken up in the morning from 7.00 AM to 11.00 AM on each day in all the schools.

Door to Door campaign shall be conducted dailyby Headmasters, Teachers and School Management Committee.Rallis, Banners, Posters, distributing pamphlets etc. are to be planned to reach the community well.

To create awareness and motivate the parents / community for admission of children in Government Schools by explaining parents / community on facilities provided by State Government under Mana Ooru Mana Badi, introduction of English Medium in Schools, FLN etc.

To enroll the eligible children of Anganwadi Centres into nearby Primary Schools in Class-I in coordination with officials of Women Development & Child WelfareDepartment at District/ Mandal/ Village level.

Identify school age and out of school children, long absentees with the help of women Self Help Groups (SHGs) and to design an action plan to enroll these children into Government Schools.

  • Prepare an appropriate action plan to identify the children with special needs (CwSN) and enroll them in Schools / Bhavitha Centres.
  • Prepare an appropriate action to identify Out of School Children and enroll them in schools.
  • Identification of child labour and to enroll them in Government Schools.
  • Informing nearby UP/ HS Head Masters regarding transition children.
  • To ensure participation of public representatives and parents. Updating the Village Education Register (VER).
  • Readiness Programmes shall be conducted to children to create interest towards school and education.

a) Conduct of Meeting of VOs on Badi Bata enrollment drive

  • Conduct of Meeting of Village Organizations (VOs) at Village Level to discuss on Badi Bata enrollment drive.
  • To take pledge to enroll all school age children of the village in schools during Badi Bata.
  • To conduct Badi Bata awareness rally by involving all Self-Help Groups, AAPC members, HMs & Teachers, HWOs, parents, old students etc.

b) Visiting the School age children House

  • Visit to each and every household of school age children of the village for enrolling them in Schools.
  • Prepare the list of school going children and update the Village Education Register (VER) accordingly.

c) Door to Door campaign

  • Door to Door campaign for enrollment of school age children in the schools.
  • To visit the Anganwadi Centres and motivate parents to enroll school age children in Government Schools.
  • To create awareness of the parents by utilizing brochures, pamphlets, handouts etc., on the benefits offered by Government in admitting their children in Government Schools and facilities in Government schools for their continuance of study.
  • To identify Out of School Children (Never enrolled / Dropout) in the Village and to enroll them in Schools.
  • To identify the CwSN who require Special Education and to admit them in nearby Bhavitha Centre / Inclusive Education Resource Centre and also to create awareness to parents about the benefits they receive in Bhavitha Centres/IERCs.
  • The children who are identified for admission in Government Schools shall be provided Admission Form (one to be handed over to the parent and other to be kept at School) and to welcome the student and parent by giving a sapling.

d) Conduct of Grama Sabha

  • Conduct of Grama Sabha to discuss on the progress done under Badi Bata Programme from 06-06-2025 to 19-06-2025.
  • Left over school age children who are yet to enroll in Schools are to be identified and they are to be enrolled in Schools by 12.06.2025.
  • To discuss on day wise activities scheduled from 12.06.2025 to 19.06.2025 in Schools as a follow up of Badi Bata Programme and active involvement by all to enroll all School age children in Schools.

a) Welcoming Day / School Readiness Day / Day of Amma Adharsha Patashaala

  • Conduct activities as mentioned above at (A) & (B) of guidelines, as applicable from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
  • Decorate the schools attractively so that the people in the habitats can recognize the importance of Badi Bata.
  • To create a festive atmosphereinSchoolthe students are to be encouraged to take up Rangoli activity and to welcome the parents/community/public representatives.
  • Proper awareness is to be created among parents and the community on the details of infrastructure provided for the convenience of the students under AAPCbythe state government and the details of facilities sanctioned to the school under this program.
  • A grand Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM) is to be organized by involving public representatives, parents, community.
  • Inaugurations of AAPC works shall be conducted.
  • Distribution of textbooks, workbooks, notebooks, uniforms, etc.
  • School walk-through for honorable public representatives, parents, community members, and children.
  • Appreciation of students and parents for good attendance, good performance in academics, cocurricular activities, extra-curricular activities, sports, etc. during the academic year 2023-24

b) FLN & LIP day

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at (A) & (B) ofguidelines, as applicable from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
  • FLN song (audio) to be played which emphasizes on asking children to come school. Displaying good quality learning outcomes posters in all classes subject-wise.
  • Read-aloud activities are to be conducted.
  • Children will make charts of different subjects of important concepts and will decorate the class.
  • FLN/LIP quiz competition – Host a quiz competition focused on FLN/ LIP topics such as letter recognition, basic math operations, and vocabulary. Divide children into teams and ask questions of varying difficulty levels to engage participants of all skill levels.

c) (1) Saamoohika Aksharabhyasam for Primary

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at (A) & (B) of guidelines, as applicable from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
  • Honorable public representatives, AAPC members, parents, and community members shall be invited to the Saamoohika Aksharabhyasa programme. This shall be celebrated in a festive environment. Cultural programmes depicting the importance of Badi Bata and education shall be conducted.
  • Ensure the attendance of newly enrolled children along with their parents.
  • Arrange the material for Aksharabhyasam.
  • Formation of school-level children committees & clubs.

c) (2) Bala Sabha for High School

  • Cultural activities shall be conducted for school children on the importance ofEducation, facilities provided by the Government, etc.
  • Preparation of TLM in a play way method and display at the prominent places.
  • Activity-oriented programs like drawing, dramatization, reading library books, etc without any Homework.

d) (1) Inclusive Education Day and Girl-child Education Day

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at (A) & (B) of guidelines, as applicable from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
  • Identification of children with special needs and to enrol them in Schools/ Bhavitha Centres.
  • Enrolment of all out-of-school children who are identified during recent survey & Badibata.
  • To ensure 100% enrolment and retention for these two categories.
  • Ensure that there are no child laborers in the habitat.
  • Create awareness of steps taken by the government to improve inclusivity in the classroom and the school for parents and teachers. [CWSN provisions (escort, transport & reader allowance, stipend for girls, aids, and appliances)]

d) (2) Girl Education & Career Guidance

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at (B) of guidelines, as applicable.
  • Class X and Class XII passed-out students are to be invited along with their parents and they have to be properly oriented with experts in the relevant field on future career opportunities. Parents are to be motivated for the continuation of higher education for their children.
  • The staff of all schools/ Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya shall interact with parents and students regarding facilities provided in KGBV Schools for the girls.
  • The girls who studied in Government Schools and settled in the profession, obtained a good rank in EAMCET, and also in sports / other activities shall be felicitated.
  • Special facilities provided for girls’ education in schools should be explained (Self-defense programme, life skills, Stipend for girls with special needs, etc.).
  • Menstrual Hygiene, Girl child rights, and their protection Acts are to be discussed with girl students.
  • Women officers are to be invited to give messages on the importance of girls’ education.

e) Awareness of Digitalization of the classrooms and Tree plantation day

  • Conduct activities as mentioned above at (A) & (B) of guidelines, as applicable from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
  • Select a space for tree plantation in the school and let children plant a few plants class-wise. Children should take care of these plants throughout the year.
  • Children should be responsible for taking care of the old and new plantations. Make a committee consisting of children from different classes and create a plan for developing the Kitchen Garden.
  • English Medium has been introduced in Schools during 2022-23 by the State Government.
  • The parents and community are to be well informed about the introduction of English Medium in schools for the holistic development of students. Guide parents on installing and using the Intinta Chanduvula Panta App.
  • Explain the details of Bilingual Textbooks to be provided by the State Government for the convenience of students in English Medium.
  • Inform the details of English Medium Training programs conducted by the State Government to strengthen the teachers.

d) Sports Day

  • Conduct activities as mentioned above at (A) & (B) of guidelines, as applicable from 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
  • Conduct various sports activities to involve all students from all the classes.
  • Arrange for necessary equipment, such as sports gear and first aid kits.
  • Prepare a plan to organize the day.
  • Have inter-class competitions on various sports activities like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, volleyball, football, etc

  • Self Help Groups also have to motivate parents and . local community for regular attendance of school children, avoid dropouts.
  • Enrollment of Out of School Children, enrollment of Children with Special Needs etc.,

Girl Education & Career Guidance

  • Class X and Class XII passed out students are to be invited along with their parents and they have to be properly oriented with experts in the relevant field on future career opportunities. Parents are to be motivated for continuance of higher education of their children.
  • Special Officer/Teacher of nearby Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya shall be invited for proper orientation to parents and students regarding facilities provided in KGBV Schools for the girls.

Swachh Patashala

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • To ensure cleanliness in all the classrooms by removing the waste material.
  • To make the school premises attractive.
  • Bring the toilets and drinking water facilities into use.
  • Water tanks must be cleaned with bleaching powder.
  • Display the subject and class wise learning outcomes in the classrooms.
  • Painting of black board, toilet cleaning, drinking water, dusting the furniture, removing waste etc.,

Haritha Haram

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Plantation has to be taken up in coordination with concerned authorities.
  • Responsibilities of planting saplings and protecting them should be given to students and teachers so that the school oremises develop greenery.

Enrollment of Children with Special Needs (CwSN)

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Registration of children with special needs as identified through survey.
  • Facilities provided by Samagra Shiksha for children with special needs should be utilized.
  • Efforts should be made for I 00 percent enrollment and retention.

Conduct of Bala Sabha

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Cultural activities are to be conducted for school children on Mana Ooru Mana Badi, introduction of English Medium in Schools etc.
  • Preparation of TLM in a play way method and display at the orominent place.

Conduct of Library Day (Reading Melas)

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Conduct of Reading Campaign by utilizing Library Books available in the Schools.
  • Reading Melas also to be organized to demonstrate the performance of children and also to inculcate reading habit among the children.
  • This activity shall be taken up effectively in coordination with department of libraries.

Enrollment of out of School Children

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Registration of the out of school children as identified through survey • Ensure ‘that all the school aged children from all the habitats are enrolled in schools.
  • Ensure that there are no child laborers in the habitat.
  • Facilities provided by Samagra Shiksha for the out of school children be utilized.
  • Efforts should be made for 100 percent enrollment and retention.
  • Admission of Out of School Children in to regular schools.
  • Long term dropouts, never enrolled children to be enrolled in NRSTCs, URS and KGBVs.
  • Planning for starting of Special Training Centres (STCs) and other centres for the education of children of migratory families and out of school children.

Awareness on Bilingual Textbooks

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Parents are to be explained about providing Bilingual Textbooks for the classes II to VIII by Government of Telangana as a part of introduction of English Medium in Schools to facilitate the School children.

Digital Education

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Parents are to be explained about Digital Education being taken up as a key component under Mana Ooru Mana Badi I Mana Basti Mana Badi Prograrnrne in the identified High Schools.
  • Digital resource such as Computers/Projectors/KYans/TVs available in Schools shall be utilized to impart Digital Education. If any minor repairs are required, same may be got done utilizing available funds.

Conduct of Maths & Science Day

  • Conduct of activities as mentioned above at serial number 30 of guidelines.
  • Students are to be encouraged by conducting activities such as Rangoli, Quiz etc.
  • Display of Maths & Science Kits wherever supplied under Rashtriva Avishkar Abhiyan and other schemes.
