The Maharaja SayajiRao University of Vadodara has released notification for the Gujarat State Eligibility Test 2023 or GSET 2023 for assistant professor. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of Maharaja Sayajirao University at www.gujaratset.in.
Candidates who are interested and eligible to work as assistant professors at colleges around Gujarat can apply for the examination through the online website, gujaratset.ac.in. Candidates who have completed or are currently studying in the final year of a UGC-recognised master’s degree are eligible to apply.
On the behalf of the Gujarat State, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, the Nodal Agency, will be holding Gujarat SET 2021 for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Gujarat State in 23 subjects at 11 Centres spread across Gujarat state. The tentative date for the examination is November 06.
GSET Application fee: The candidates from the General, Gen – EWS , SEBC (Non-creamy layer) have to pay ₹900+Banking Charge as application fee. The candidates from the SC, ST, Third gender Candidate have to pay ₹700+banking charge as application fee. The candidates from the PWD(PH/VH) category have to pay ₹100 as application fee.
The Gujarat State Eligibility Test (GSET) which is conducted for determining eligibility for lectureship in universities and colleges of Gujarat will be held in December. MSU which is the nodal agency for conducting GSET in the state has decided to hold the examination as per the new guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UCC).

GSET Age limit: There is no age limit applying in applying GSET for the post of Assistant Professor.
GSET Selection Process: GSET Examination will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions.
Gujarat SET Highlights
- GSET is the state level examination, conducting as an eligibility test for assistant professor and for Junior research fellows.
- The exam would consist of two papers – Paper 1 of 100 marks with 50 questions and Paper II of 200 marks with 100 questions.
- The examination would now be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm on November 6.
- The hall tickets/ admit cards would be released 7 days before the examination, that is on November 1.

Only the candidates who have completed / are studying in the final year or semester of a UGC specified Master’s degree are eligible to appear in the GSET exam. Gujarat SET will be conducted in eleven centres viz Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Patan, Bhavnagar, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Godhra, Junagadh, Valsad, Bhuj in 25 subjects.
