IGNOU Admissions 2020 notification released on its official website for Degree, PG, Diploma, Certificates Courses in Open University: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the online application process for 2020. Students who are interested in pursuing any of the 173 programmes offered by the university from the official website by January 20, 2020. The academic session for the bachelors, masters and science stream courses in science, social science, humanities and management begins in January for the academic year of 2019-2020.
IGNOU Admission 2020: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the application deadline for Distance Degree, PG Admissions 2020. IGNOU admissions 2019 Application submission start from 15-11-2020: The last date for submission of IGNOU admissions 2020 online and offline application form for admission to masters/bachelors/diploma programmes, for the January 2020 session to be in last week of December. The students can submit their application from November 15, 2019, and the entrance exam would take place in December.
Admission shall be done on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance test conducted by IGNOU all over India. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme is offered in English and Hindi medium. The minimum duration of the programme is two years. However, the maximum period allowed for completion of the programme is five years.

ELIGIBILITY: The candidates should have at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto.
Only those candidates whose results are declared and qualified at the time of submitting the entrance cum application form are eligible. Along with other requisite certificates, a candidate should also submit Marksheet and Certificate of completion of a teacher education programme through face-to-face mode duly recognized by NCTE.

The university’s tie-up with the ministry of electronics and information technology gave students access to the CSCs, which function as delivery points for social welfare schemes, health care and education services in rural areas to ensure social, financial and digital inclusion. IGNOU has also invited applications from candidates for Ph D and M Phil programmes (regular mode). The admission before or on the extended date would not invite any late payment fee and the admission process, including payment is completely online, the university said in a statement. The IGNOU had also advised aspirants without access to the internet to approach Common Service Centres (CSCs) for the application process.

IGNOU begins admission to Bachelor Preparatory Programme 2019 through CSC network: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) said on Wednesday that admission to its Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) for the January 2020 session has begun online through common service centre (CSC) for the first time across the country. The university said BPP is a non-formal channel to be eligible for a bachelor of arts, bachelor of commerce, bachelor in social work and bachelor in tourism studies of the university.
“The programme is meant for those students who do not have the essential qualifications of 10+2. In the absence of such a qualifying certificate, these students are deprived of higher education. BPP has been designed to meet this gap for which no prior formal education is required,” Subhas Shetgovekar, the programme coordinator for the BPP programme, said.
The university invited admission for 136 programmes in online mode and 11 programmes in offline mode. The programme is available in nine regional languages – English, Oriya, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam and Gujarati. Its duration is minimum six months and maximum two years.

The inauguration for the course is likely to take place at the Akshardham Research Centre that is on the premises of the temple in Delhi. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is considering establishing a Swami Narayan Chair in its campus and launch alue education and spiritualism programmes by January 2020. Prof. Ravindra Kumar, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU, announced this during a meeting with the representatives of the Swami Narayan sansthan recently, a press release from the university states.
“With this collaboration, all the centres of Swami Narayan in India and abroad shall be established as IGNOU study centres and exam centres for the programme,” Ravindra informed. According to the press release, the course, titled as ‘Pracheen Bhartiya Sabhyata Aivam Sanskriti’, is at the final stages of approval. The inauguration for the course is likely to take place at the Akshardham Research Centre that is on the premises of the temple in Delhi.
The press release quotes one of the representatives from the spiritual group as saying: “We look forward to teach today’s generation the rich culture and values of India. We aim to bring into their notice that education is not only studying engineering, medical, commerce, philosophy etc., but its connotations are wide. Around 60,000 students per year undergo our examination but with no certification. Around 22,000 students are associated with us from USA, England and Africa with all our curriculum online.” “We are not a regular college, but still it has a curriculum and examination system,” he added.
Recently, the university launched 11 free online MOOC courses out of which two a certificate course in Russian and a certificate course in e-learning are already functional.
