If selected as a PO in SBI, there will be a probationary period of two years. Upon successful completion of this as per the prescribed criteria, the Scale-B Officer will be appointed as Assistant Manager in the cadre.

Salary Structure and Pay Scale of SBI PO 2021

The examination will be conducted online at venues across centres in India. Candidates who will be selected through the selection process are liable to be posted anywhere in India.

The starting basic pay is Rs.27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of Rs.23700-980/ 7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I.

The total compensation per annum on CTC basis be a minimum of 8.20 lacs and maximum of 13.08 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises of three steps

  • Preliminary examination,
  • main examination,
  • Group Exercise, and
  • Interview.

Preliminary Examination is conducted online and consists of Objective Test for 100 marks. The Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks.

Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian citizens who have completed their graduation (in any stream) from a recognized university are eligible to apply for SBI PO 2021. The age limit for the SBI PO Examination is 21 to 30 years as on April 1.

Extensions as applicable for reserved category as per extant government rules. The candidates who are in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply. Chartered Accountants are also eligible to apply for the positions.

Candidates are advised to carefully go through the official notification in regards the reserved category and use of scribe requirements.

Only candidates with benchmark disabilities can claim the use of scribe and reservation under PwD category. Extension in the upper age limit of 5 years for SC, ST, 3 years for OBC and others is also provided.

Educational Qualification:

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for the interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before August 31.

Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before August 31. Candidates possessing the qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

Age Limit: Candidates should not be below 21 years to 30 years of age.

Application Fee:

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD will have to pay Nil amount as intimation charges. For candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC category, Rs.750/- along with application fee. Fee/Intimation charges once paid will NOT be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

SBI POs Exam pattern: The main examination will consist of objective tests for 200 marks and descriptive test for 50 marks

Pre-requisites for Applying Online: Candidates should have valid email ID which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/interview advice etc. by email.

How to Apply SBI PO 2021?

Candidates interested in applying for SBI PO 2020 are required to fill the online application form. The forms are available on the official website. Direct Link to the same is also provided here. Candidates would be required to pay a fee of Rs.750 (for general category) and Nil for reserved category.

Also, candidates would be required to upload their signature and photograph. These details are provided on the official notification available.

In order to apply, interested candidates can click on the Online Application Form for SBI PO 2018. A new window would open. Candidates are required to register online on the page and provide the information.

Please remember, application would be considered complete once the fee is deposited. Also, candidates can only fill the online application and are required to pay the fee through online mode. Fee would not be accepted through challan.

Method of Section:

a. Phase-I: Examination consisting Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks.
The Objective Test will be online. Immediately after the online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Questions relating to Descriptive Test will be available on computer (Online) and candidates will have to write the answers on the answer sheet (Offline) provided to them on Paper/Pen mode.

(i) Objective Test: The Objective Test with 2hours duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:
a) Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
b) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
c) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
d) Test of Reasoning (High Level)

The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50marks) will be of “Test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”.

The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

b. Phase-II:  Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

Candidates qualified for GD & Interview under ‘OBC’ category are required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.

Final Selection: The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately.
