All the government, local body and private schools across the State will have five days of Sankranti holidays from January 13 to 17. The schools will reopen on January 18.
As per the academic calendar issued by the School Education department for the academic year 2026 this vacation will be applicable to schools other than missionary schools.
TS College Sankranti holidays 2026
On Saturday, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TS BIE) declared Sankranti holidays for all junior colleges under different managements in the state from January 13 to 16. The colleges will again reopen on January 16.
The Board instructed all junior colleges to adhere to the schedule strictly. It also instructed private unaided junior colleges not to conduct any classes during the holidays.

Lifting of Second Saturday holidays till April is very pinching, & work is very hectic. Everyone of us plan to hv some personal works on the two consecutive days i.e Second Saturday & Sunday. Hence we request u not to cancel Second Saturdays holidays hence forth.
