Summer Holidays to TS Schools from April 27th & Schools Reopen on July 1, 2021

Telangana government announced summer holidays for schools and colleges from April 27. All the schools and junior colleges were given holidays from April 27 to July 21. The reopening of schools and junior colleges will be decided by Telangana Government later considering the COVID-19 situation on July 1. The last working day of the academic year 2020-21 was April 26.

The Telangana Government has decided to resume classes in offline mode in all educational institutions from July 1. The decision to resume classes in physical mode has been taken after examining the reports submitted by the Telangana Medical and Health Department officials and considering that Covid19 cases have decreased and the coronavirus situation is now under control in Telangana.

The Cabinet has instructed the Education Department of the state to reopen all categories of educational institutions including schools and colleges in the state with full preparedness and the students be allowed to attend the classes physically from July 1. The government is yet to release guidelines on compulsory attendance of students, online classes and other related issues.

Summer Vacation In TS Schools and Colleges from 27-04-2021: The Telangana Government announced that summer vacation for schools and colleges in the state will begin from April 27, and continue till June 20. The government will decide on June 1 when the schools and junior colleges would reopen after considering the COVID-19 situation. The government has also promoted the students of Classes 1 to 10 to their next classes without exams.

All 10th Class students passes and Class 1 to 9 Students are promoted: The Telangana State government has declared holidays for schools and junior colleges from April 27 to June 15. April 26 will be the last working day of the academic year. The government has already decided to cancel the board examination of Class 10 and passed 5,21,392 students. DSE Telangana has given proceedings Rc.No.51 on 15-06-2021 for declaration of Holidays to the Teachers with effect from 27-04-2021 under COVID-19 as per the Disaster management Act 2005 an in the references of (1) G.O.Ms.No.67, General Administration Department, Government of Telangana, dt:23.03.2021. Telangana DSE has informed to all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and all the District Educational Officers in the State that orders were issued to close all the educational institutions vide ref 1st cited and Online/ Distance learning is continued as earlier.

Government have carefully reviewed the situation arising due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and have decided to declare Summer Holidays for all the Schools and Junior Colleges in the state with effect from 27.04.2021 till 20.06.2021 and issued orders vide ref 2nd cited.

Therefore, the Regional Joint Directors of School Education Hyderabad and Warangal and all the District Educational Officers in the State are hereby directed to take necessary action accordingly. This has got the approval of the Director of School Education.

TS School Summer Holidays

The Telangana government has extended the summer holidays in all schools and DIET colleges of the state till June 20, 2021. “Government has carefully reviewed the situation and it is decided to extend summer holidays for all the schools and DIET (District Institute of Education and Training colleges) in the state till June 20,” reads the official notification by the Directorate of School Education.

The state government in April had announced early summer vacation for all schools and colleges till May 31 and then by June 15. The decision has been taken due to an Covid-19 situation in the state. The decision has been taken to further extend the summer vacation considering the safety of students and teachers.


In 2019, Summer Holidays to TS Schools from April 24th to June 11th and and TS Schools Reopen on June 12: TS Govt has declared holidays due to heavy heat weather in Telangana. The Department of School Education, Government of Telangana has reviewed the advisories issued by the Disaster Management Department on Prevailing heat wave.

Due to high day temperatures recorded in the State and taking feedback from District Collectors, and also considering the demand of the parents of school children, After, DSE may declare the holidays to all Schools functioning under Government/ Local Bodies / Private Managements and Summer Vacation may be rescheduled.

Keeping in view of the scorching heat wave conditions and the rising mercury levels, the Telangana Government may decide to bring in some relief for the students by advancing the summer holidays.

Summer Holidays to TS Schools from April 24th to June 11th in 2019: But, DSE Telangana has given clarification on Summer Holidays to TS Schools. Commissioner and Director of School Education has announced a press note for summer holidays. So, Summer holidays from April 24th – June 11th as usual and school reopens from June 112th.

Summer holidays from April 24th to June 11th. And (b) School reopens from June 12th. So, The New Academic year 2019-2020 will commence with effect from 12.06.2020.

Announcing the the press note, The summer holidays begin from April 24th. The schools are set to re-open on June 12. The school managements who don’t follow the summer holiday schedule will be facing stern consequences. Summer Holidays to TS Schools from April 24th to June 11th.

As per the Government Of Telangana, School Education Department, Memo No. 2458, Dated: 24-05-2019: Following request from various quarters, the Telangana Government has finally decided to postpone the re-opening of TS Schools from June 12 instead of June 1 in view of prevailing heat wave conditions in the State.

Necessary orders in this regard were issued on May 24 by Education Department Secretary Dr. Janardhan Reddy to the Commissioner of School Education. Therefore, the ongoing summer holidays for schools will continue till June 11 and all TS Schools will re-open on June 12.
