Inspire Competitions 2020 of academic year 2019-2020: Exhibition and Project Competitions as an online platform. ‘Inspire Manak’ contests on the app next month. Preference for innovative research models.

Inspire There will be no student bustle this time around for the prestigious Inspire competitions that provoke innovative ideas in school students and steer them towards research. Competitions for the last academic year (2019-20) will be conducted online this time.

The ideas submitted by the students were selected by the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) primarily last year. Usually students create exhibits on those ideas and participate in district level exhibition competitions.

While the Inspire competitions were to be held the last year, there was a delay in taking the initiative of the Department of School Education. These will be held this December month.

The Department of School Education has directed to all the DEOs to ensure that the district level competitions will be completed between the 14th and 17th of this month.

A total of 3,472 projects will compete. About 10 per cent of the projects are selected at the state level. The school education department plans to hold state competitions later this month (December last week).

Inspire Competitions 2021 for the academic year 2020-2021, 24,061 applications were received from students in Class 6-10 in public and private schools across the state. NIF representatives will look at them and select them for district level competitions. Rs.10,000 will be provided for making exhibits for selected ideas.

Inspire DLEP Schedule

The expectation of school students finally came to the fore. The venue for the Inspire Manak competition for the last academic year (2019-20) has been finalized. The State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has directed that competitions be held at the district level on December 10 and 11. It is proposed to be held at the state level by the 25th of next month.

The Central Government-owned Department of Science and Technology organizes the annual ‘Inspire Manak‘ to promote creativity in students at the school level.

The program was postponed last year due to unavoidable reasons as students have been performing on contemporary topics for almost ten years. For the first time due to Covid, a science fair will be organized online through the ‘Manak Competition’ app.

The Guide ‘Teachers suggested that steps be taken to focus on experiments that would provide multiple benefits to future generations. Many students in the district are excited to participate in these competitions. Teachers are also preparing to participate in a science Exhibition.

An User Manual of INSPIRE Awards – MANAK online DLEPC /SLEPC has been uploaded on its official web portal for Students through “MANAK Competition APP”. manak means million minds augmenting national aspiration and knowledge

A meeting was held on 3rd November with state nodal officers on conduct of INSPIRE Awards- MANAK Online District and State Level Exhibition and Project Competitions of previous years.

As discussed and agreed upon INSPIRE Awards MANAK Online Competitions 2020, NIF India has requested to plan and conduct the online DLEPC and SLEPC for the FY 2019-20 through “MANAK Competition APP” or ‘Inspire Competition web based application‘ before 25th December 2020.

A brief PPT about the procedure of student’s online participation in DLEPC/SLEPC has been sent to officials. Kindly, use the user id and password (which were provided in the proceedings) of students for the testing purpose.

In the context of the procedure to conduct online D/SLEPC i.e., INSPIRE Awards MANAK Online Competitions 2020, kindly plan a virtual meeting of functionaries (State and Districts) with NIF officials. NIF India officials request the SCERT Telangana to instruct the district authorities to inform School authorities beforehand so that the students can start preparing their prototype.

To work out the schedule of DLEPC / SLEPC in your state. NIF is looking forward to your best co-operation to make the INSPIRE scheme successful.

MANAK Competition App

DST has developed MANAK Competition App for online DLEPC , SLEPC (State Level Exhibition and Project Competition and NLEPC (National Level Exhibition and Project Competition) for the students those who awarded for their ideas/innovations for the INSPIRE Awards-MANAK Competition jointly organized by Department of Science and Technology and National Innovation Foundation-India.

In this app user will login with there User ID & Password and upload there prototype details which they had developed.

How to participate in online D/SLEPC: For Selected Students Only

If you have been selected for D/SLEPC, you may participate during scheduled period by District/ State Authority. For the virtual participation, you may through participate your Android /ios version mobile or web based application.

If you are using Android /ios version mobile, Please follow these steps.

  1. Download MANAK from Competition app “Google Play Store”.
  2. Once you install APP, you have to enter your student reference code (issued after award sanction) and you will get OTP in registered phone number.
  3. Log in with your reference code and One Time Password (OTP).
  4. On the dashboard you will find your details, kindly verify once and proceed further.
  5. There’s two options for data submission: To upload a video/Audio/Photo along with brief description. Video- up to 30 MB Photos- up to 4MB
  6. To Record a video/Audio and take picture. along with brief description. Video- up to 2 Minutes Photos – up to 4 Note: Audio size – no limitation
  7. After clicking the final submission button, you will find an option for the text. If you have anything to write regarding the idea/model for more clarity, you can write here.
  8. Once you fill in the required details, have to click submit.
  9. Finally, tick on check box certify the data information and you on the to and click on the final submission button.

Students may also participate in D/SLEPC through web based application after clicking http://online.nifindia.org/ dashboard and using same user id and password with similar procedure.
