The JNV selection test, NVST would be conducted every for admission in to Class 6 in all Navodaya Schools across India. For the academic year 2025-2026, Navodaya Entrance Exam will be held on the notified date for all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
The selection test is held in English, Hindi, and the regional languages of each state. The entrance test is conducted for 80 objective type questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The three sections are Mental Ability, Arithmetic Test, and Language Test.
According latest reports, over 40 lakhs students are expected to apply for JNVST, for this academic session, for admission to Class 6.
Only the candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply for admission. At present, 661 Vidyalayas are sanctioned in 27 States and 08 Union Territories.

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has started the registration process for NVS Class 6 admission 2025. The NVS Class 6 admission form 2025-25 is available on the official website, cbseitms.rcil.gov.in and navodaya.gov.in.
While applying online it is mandatory to upload the soft copy of the certificate verified by the Headmaster mentioning the candidate’s details in the prescribed format, photograph, signature of parents, signature of the candidate, aadhaar details or residence certificate issued by the competent Government authority
A candidate is appearing for this selection test must be studying in Class 5 for the whole of the academic session -23 in a Government /Government aided or other recognized schools or ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he / she is seeking admission.
To be eligible for admission the student must be a bonafide resident of the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been located. The student must be studying in Class 5 in the academic session 2022-23 in a government, government aided or recognized school in the same district where the JNV is functioning and to which the student is seeking to take admission.
The candidate must have also studied and passed Class 3 and 4 from a government, government aided or recognized school. The candidate also needs to be born between May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2013.
How To Apply for NVS Class 6 Admissions 2025-26?
- Visit the official website- navodaya.gov.in. or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in.
- Click on the NVS Class 6 registration link available on the homepage.
- Fill in all the necessary details.
- After that, fill in the second section of communication details and then the academic details in the next section of ‘previous school details’.
- Next, upload the required documents.
- Check all details in the admission form and edit the form if it is required.
- Then submit the NVS Class 6 admission 2025 form.
- At last, note down the application number and download the confirmation page.
Eligibility for Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2025: Students who have studied in Class 5 during 2022-23 are eligible to apply. However, Candidates who have passed class V before the session 2022-23 or repeated candidates are not allowed.
Education in JNVs is free including board lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs 600 per month is collected only from the students of Classes 9th to 12th towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) is a system of central schools for talented and gifted students who lack access to education due to their financial, social and rural disadvantages.
It is known to offer excellent education, infrastructure and teaching facilities. It is present across the countries in many states and is affiliated with CBSE, where students are not required to pay tuition fees; but from Class 9 to 12, they have to deposit Rs 600 per month for the School Development Fund.
The fee for children of government employees is Rs 1,500 per month. If a student belongs to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe and is Below Poverty Line category, or if the student is a girl, then the fee is waived off.
