TS Alternative Academic Calendar 2021-22 has been released by the SCERT Telangana on its official website for Primary level, Upper Primary level and Secondary level. Parents, Students and Teachers download AAC for PS, UPS, High School from the given link.

In order to cope with the existing scenario in view of Covid-19 pandemic and to meet the challenges ahead there is an urgent need to prepare appropriate strategies for the academic year 2021-22 for providing continuous support for learning among the students with and without access to digital devices involving all the students, parents, community, and all the stakeholders in this pursuit.

Mitigating learning loss – Developing effective home-learning programmes and tracking learning As schools are not functioning full-fledged for the consecutive second year, there is an urgent need to focus on continuity of learning for all the students using all possible resources.

While we continue our efforts initiated last year, it is to be acknowledged that achieving the learning outcomes and giving basic awareness on the core concepts prescribed for their respective classes stands as a major challenge in front of us. There is an imperative need to have an urgent and appropriate strategy to address this challenge.

Hence, SCERT has designed the Alternative Academic Calendar [4 weeks Bridge Course + 2 weeks previous class remedial teaching + 2 weeks Current year syllabus teaching] to suit this purpose for classes III to X along with Assessment. This Bridge Course Programme is initiated for classes III to X to mitigate the learning gap among the students due to closure of schools.

Initially, Bridge Course for 4 levels and for 4 weeks was developed. Thereon class-wise remedial teaching for 5th and 6th successive weeks followed by teaching of current year syllabus for 2021-22 for 7th and 8th weeks were incorporated in Alternative Academic Calendar.

Bridge Course levels are Level 1 – Classes 3, 4, 5; Level 2 – Classes 6, 7; Level 3 – Classes 8, 9 and Level 4 – Class 10. The department is implementing the Bridge Course through online mode. Digital lessons for Bridge Course are developed by SIET, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad and are being transmitted through Doordharshan and TSAT channels for 4 weeks for 4 levels in three media i.e. Telugu, English and Urdu for all subjects.

The Headmasters shall ensure that all the students watch the digital lessons. Teachers shall ensure that all the students are involved in the assessment given after every 2 weeks to know the progress and the learning levels achieved.

For this purpose, various online assessment tools such as Mentimeter, Google forms, Crossword labs, Quizery for the preparation of questions for MCQs, Very Short Answers, Discourse constructions etc. may be used. The role of parents, community, local bodies in addition to teachers has become all the more important to ensure that that there is no learning loss among the children.

SCERT Telangana released proceedings Rc.No.223 on 13-07-2021 for Implementation of Alternative Academic Calendar in all the schools. SCERT has informed to all the RJDSEs and DEOs in the State that on the COVID response document communicated by NCERT, SCERT has developed Alternative Academic Calendar for 8 weeks [4 weeks Bridge Course + 2 weeks previous class remedial teaching +2 weeks Current year syllabus teaching] along with Assessment for the academic year 2021-22 and uploaded in SCERT website.

The Alternative Academic Calendar provides the school Heads and teachers a model of transactional plans and timelines to meaningfully engage the students in educational tasks and enable them to keep in regular touch with the teaching learning and assessment process.

SCERT has informed to all the RJDSEs and DEOs to issue necessary instructions to the Headmasters of all schools in their jurisdiction to follow the Alternative Academic Calendar uploaded in the SCERT website to ensure the continuity of learning among the students. TS Academic Calendars for PS UPS High Schools Telugu, English and Urdu Medium Academic Calendars Download: The Commissioner and Director of School Education Department, Telangana State issued the instructions on Academic Calendar Implementation and Other academic-related issues for the academic year through its official proceedings.

Certain instructions have been issued on 1. School timings for primary schools, upper primary schools, High Schools. 2. Subject wise allotment of the period in PS, UPS, High schools and 3. Internal Exams

School Education Department, Telangana has issued certain instructions on CCE implementation in all Telangana Schools including private recognized schools. In this regarding, the number of periods and distribution of timings in the school time tables have been prepared for PS, UPS and High Schools and also subject wise allotment of periods per week in PS, UPS and High  School for Classes 1 to 5, Classes 6, 7 and Classes 8, 9 and 10 separately prepared.

In this connection syllabus distribution for both curricular and co-curricular activities has been developed. DSE Officials has issued instructions for High School HMs and SAs for taking classes.

The SCERT Telangana has prepared Academic Calendars in Telugu for Primary Schools and UPS+High Schools and these calendars printing process was completed and it was printed in Telugu, English and Urdu mediums for all Schools. The printed calendars will supplied to the schools through DEOs.  The Telugu Calendars  are provided here.
