Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA) in CCE, Formative Assessment (FA) is a tool used by the teacher to continuously monitor a student’s progress in a non–threatening, supportive environment. It involves regular descriptive feedback, a chance for the student to reflect on the performance, take advice and improve upon it. If used effectively, it can improve student performance tremendously, while raising the self-esteem of the child and reducing the workload of the teacher. What is Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is an education system newly introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education in India. Now Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is also introduced by the Directorate of School Education and Rajiv Vidya Mission(SSA) in Andhra Pradesh, for students of first class to tenth class. General guidelines have been issued by the Telangana SCERT for implementing TS School Alternative Academic Calendar for 8 weeks. Teachers are advised to call up the parents of the students to apprise them about the conduct of the suggested activities. In case Internet is not available at a student’s home, then teachers can explain to the students/ parents about each activity over the phone, through SMS and Voice Recorded messages.
