National Testing Agency, NTA, will release the allotment of exam dates and shifts for JEE Mains. Candidates who have applied for the JEE Main January Examination will be able to log in to their accounts on the official website jeemain.nic.in to check the exam date and city allotted to them.
The information regarding the exam city allotted to candidates will be released only on the website. As per the notification released on the official website, the exam date and shift allotted will be released. JEE Main city allotment details will be released, and admit cards will be released in December.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the JEE Main Examination dates. As per the notification released on the exam’s official website, jeemain.nic.in, the examination for JEE Main II will be conducted in January and April.

There is no age limit for appearing in JEE Main. Candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or 2025, irrespective of their age, can appear in the JEE Main examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the institute(s) in which they want to take admission.

JEE Mains dates are available on the official website, and students can check the schedule there as well. The dates shared above are taken from the official notification.
Also, Ministry of Education officials had earlier confirmed that JEE Main 2025 would be conducted only twice – as per the pre-pandemic model.
The examination will be conducted in two sessions spread over multiple shifts. Students have the option of appearing for either or both of the examinations. The best of the two (in case students choose to appear for both) will be considered for the final result.

How to check the JEE Main Exam Dates & Shift details?
The NTA releases Joint Entrance Examination notification on its JEE Main web portal, https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the JEE Mains in two sessions: the First in April 2025 and the second in May 2025.
Candidates can apply for JEE Mains 2025 on the official website. All interested are advised to check the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in for more updates.
- Visit the NTA.nic.in Website: Students need to visit the official website, nta.nic.in, in their device browser.
- Click on JEE Main Link: Once you reach the official website, click on the JEE Main link on the home page. Then, the Joint Entrance Examination Main Official website, https://jeemain.nta.ac.in/, will open in your device.
- Click on Public Notice Link: On the home page of JEE Main, click on the Public Notice JEE (Main) link under the latest news section. Then, a new PDF file will open on your device.
- Check the Exam Dates: Candidates can check the JEE Main exam dates and read the instructions carefully which were provided in the Public Notice PDF file.
- Download the Exam Dates: After checking all the details, candidates can download the exam dates. Print them out and preserve them for future reference.
The NTA will organize the JEE Main Exam twice in a year: JEE (Main) and NEET twice, the best of his/ her two scores will be taken into account. JEE Main I in January and JEE Main II in April.
Qualifying JEE Main will open the gateways to NITs, IITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs across the country for Undergraduate programmes like Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch).
Candidates must note that appearing for JEE Main I and /or JEE Main II is optional. If a candidate chooses to appear for both exams, the best score will be considered during the admission process.
JEE Main Exam Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for JEE main or advanced, candidates must score at least 75 percent in Class 12 board exams or place among the top 20 percentile of the Boards. For candidates of the SC and ST categories, this has been lowered to 65 percent.
