Steps to raise objections on JEE Main Answer Key, important instructions

To check your answer key, responses and question paper, go to jeemain.nta.ac.in and click on the activated link. A new window would open. Students can login with their Application Number and password or Date of Birth.

Once logged in to your account, click on ‘Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key’. 90 Question IDs relating to Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics for Paper I and 80 Questions (Mathematics/Aptitude) IDs for Paper II would be displayed sequentially on the screen.

Your recorded responses and the correct answer is provided on the same page. The correct ID or ‘answer key’ is placed under the column ‘Correct Option’, which NTA would use.

To compute your JEE Main II 2025 January result, simply add all the answers marked by you that tally with the ‘correct option’ and the number of answers which do not tally with the answer key provided. Your raw score would be calculated as 4 X Number of Correct Answers – Number of Incorrect questions.

If you wish to challenge the option, select the option ID (or IDs) given in the next four columns. Once done, scroll down and ‘Save your Claim’.

The next window that opens will show you the list of all the question IDs you have raised an objection against.

This is also the screen wherein the candidate must upload documentary proof in favour of the objections raised. Remember, you are required to upload a single PDF file.

Once uploaded, click on ‘Save your Claim Finally’. The system will then prompt you to pay the fee. A fee of Rs.1,000/—for each question challenged is applicable. Select the mode of payment and make the fee.

Objections raised without fee payments would not be considered. Also, there is no fee refund if your challenge is found to be incorrect. Only if your challenge for a particular question is found correct would the fee be refunded – for that question. For example, you raise objections against 5 answers but only 2 are found to be correct. In the scenario, Rs. 2000 would be refunded.

Remember, NTA will consider the objections raised and release the final answer keys. It will also release the JEE Main 2025 exam result and final result and rank.

Also, the result calculated using the answer key is the Raw Score. Remember, this is subject to change based on the challenges received by NTA.

NTA would calculate the candidates’ NTA scores separately from the raw score. This score would then be used to declare the JEE Main Result 2025 and JEE Main 2025 Rank. NTA would also release the status of whether or not you have qualified for JEE Advanced 2025 along with the rank and result.
